BRAVELY ASK HIM

Being a child of the KING requires us to be brave.  It’s a brave thing to ask the Creator of the universe to humble you to be more like JESUS.  WE ask for humbling, but then why do we reject what GOD shows us and hands to us so perfectly?

In the humbling, GOD chips away at our hard hearts so that we may be more compassionate, loving and living a more holy lifestyle…….for HIM.  My recent humbling has caused me to know deep down that people who struggle with any type of illness are to be embraced because they feel so alone in their fight.  I will never look at another and avoid their eyes!  I will never look at another cancer patient and not realize that they need such love and compassion that only GOD can give and that I can reach out to them with HIS kindness.

JOHN 15: 2  “……..EVERY BRANCH THAT DOES NOT BEAR FRUIT HE PRUNES THAT IT MAY BEAR MORE FRUIT.”

When we ask for humbling…….if we dare to, GOD knows the perfect way to get our attention and HE knows how to show us that we are not above anyone else, or better than anyone.  HE wants us to consider others better than ourselves!  When we put others before ourselves, we will bear more fruit for the Kingdom.

PHILIPPIANS 2: 3  “DO NOTHING FROM SELFISH AMBITION OR CONCEIT, BUT IN HUMILITY COUNT OTHERS MORE SIGNIFICANT THAN YOURSELVES.”

GOD WILL strip away your pride if you ask HIM……..bravely ask HIM.  Because humbling and counting others more significant is a hard thing.  But isn’t that what JESUS did with people?  HE treated them like they were the most important person in the room that day.  HIS meeting them in their selfish moments always changed them to be more humble……..to put others first, to learn HIS special lesson for them and then to move forward changed…….humbled.

EPHESIANS 4: 2 “ALWAYS BE HUMBLE AND GENTLE.  BE PATIENT WITH EACH OTHER, MAKING ALLOWANCE FOR EACH OTHER’S FAULTS BECAUSE OF YOUR LOVE.”

I don’t want to waste my cancer journey……..instead I want to use it in the way GOD wants me to.  And instead of asking GOD why me, I am now asking HIM why not me?  Why not me to be humbled under HIS hand and why not me to be transformed into a more loving, gentle, patient human being?  I found myself through my 3 surgeries more concerned for my surgeon and my nurses than myself.  But I know I was only able to do this because GOD had HIS hand upon me saying yes, you are dealing with this now, but what about your surgeon who is trying so hard to find success for you?  Let him know how much you appreciate him no matter the outcome.  Will my surgeon remember my case in the future………I hope so!  I hope he will remember to persevere in spite of all odds.  Just to give another woman hope and a positive outcome.

Bravely asking GOD for only HIS insight above all other voices is humbling too.  The world wants you to listen to all it’s noise and to pull you in.  But GOD keeps us on the right path, a humble path, filled with love, compassion, gentleness and self-control.  HE wants to keep us humble in spite of what the enemy tells us that being completely self-centered is a good thing.  Let’s kick that idea in it’s butt to the curb!  Losing one’s life for the sake of CHRIST is pure freedom!

MATTHEW 10: 39  “WHOEVER FINDS HIS LIFE WILL LOSE IT, AND WHOEVER LOSES HIS LIFE FOR MY SAKE WILL FIND IT.”

And there it is…….humble yourself before GOD.  Lose your life for HIM, in order to truly find it and live in freedom.  Bravely ask for humility and even insight.  Because today, for such a time as this, GOD knows exactly what you need!

1 PETER 5: 6  “HUMBLE YOURSELVES, THEREFORE UNDER THE MIGHTY HAND OF GOD SO THAT AT THE PROPER TIME HE MAY EXALT YOU CASTING ALL YOUR ANXIETIES ON HIM, BECAUSE HE CARES FOR YOU.”

  1. Reading about how God has humbled you to be His servant is, itself, humbling; and a powerful lesson to me. It reminds me that it’s not about me: God will do His work in me as I do His work in serving others.
    God bless you.
