I have realized this with cancer: you are either a fighter or a survivor. You are either in a battle to hear “cancer free” or you have heard those words already, but live every day with the thought and knowledge that the cancer might return.
One of my dearest friends who I adore……..has been cancer free for 15 years! Right now she is my hero. And she is a believer so I do know her strong foundation of faith. She has always been JESUS in skin to me. In my book, her story is proof that GOD exists and loves HIS children. I know the details of the pure hell her body has been through only to make her faith all the more victorious! She has never wavered from her faith as long as I have known her. She is such an inspiration to me. And she has given me the HOPE I need to hold on to. And I am twice blessed that GOD placed her in my life after all these 30 years we have known one another…….. for such a time as this.
But life is like that……..you are either in a battle of some kind, or you are coasting along with all of GOD’S many blessings upon you. BUT GOD!! So let’s remember this……..
2 CHRONICLES 20: 15 “…….FOR THE BATTLE IS NOT YOURS, BUT GOD’S.”
Whether you are fighting or are just now a survivor the real truth in all of trusting upon GOD is this:
BATTLES = BLESSINGS
In GOD’S economy we cannot ever know any of the true blessings until we have faced some battles. Some are harder than others, but all produce within a character of humble submission to the ONE who fights for us. And HE is the CHIEF officer, the highest ranking in all warfare. So let HIM fight your battles before you and beside you! It is worth it because you are never alone and HIS blessings will always come in ways you would never expect.
EPHESIANS 1: 3 “BLESSED BE THE GOD AND FATHER OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST WHO HAS BLESSED US IN CHRIST WITH EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING IN THE HEAVENLY REALMS.”
And there it is……..there is always a hope with blessings that GOD has graced upon us that are spiritual. There is always victory in JESUS CHRIST! So fight your battle today with HIM by your side and with HIM as your guide, because HE is always victorious! JESUS will never let you go!
1 CORINTHIANS 15: 57 “BUT THANKS BE TO GOD, WHO GIVES US VICTORY THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST!”

Victory, indeed! We get to spend eternity with Him, and He is our prize.
When I go through struggles / hardships, I think of all the flesh I have. It hurts for God to carve off all that flesh, but He is making me more like His beloved Son. So, as the hymn says, “It will be worth it all…”
