Let us reflect on that night long ago, when the Babe in the Manger was born and the wise men came………
You see, they noticed. They noticed the star above and it guided them to the Holy spot where Jesus was born.
MATTHEW 2: 2 “FOR WE SAW HIS STAR IN THE EAST AND HAVE COME TO WORSHIP HIM.”
They saw and they observed and they went. How about you? Are you looking for signs of HIM around you this season or are you all wrapped up in the buying and the getting? Have you seen HIS love reflected in your husband’s eyes or in your children’s play? What about those around you? Do you notice those that no one else notices?
Don’t we all want to be truly seen? If you have ever been ignored, pushed aside, or glossed over, you know what I mean. Recently I was out walking my Molly pup and we came upon a driveway that was blocked with several cars. I held Molly close on leash as we walked around into the street and when I got to the other side of the driveway I heard a voice say: “so sorry about that.” I turned and saw a neighbor coming out of his house. He didn’t have to say anything really, but he did……..he noticed me. It was a pleasant comment said and unexpected. But I realized that he noticed me and saw that I had to go out of my way a little (even though it didn’t bother me in the least). That comment showed me this man paid attention to detail for another human being. I want to be just like him.
During this season of JESUS, let us make every effort to notice those no one else does.
How about the girl at the cash register, or the person at the drive through. How about not just wishing them a nice day, but instead ask them how their day is going? You just might strike up a conversation that will allow you to witness the true meaning of this Christmas season. How about be ever so bold and invite them to Church services? You can always ask……..notice those no one else does. You could be the only JESUS they ever see in their day.
I’m afraid we are losing our connection to one another………satan is winning that way. He is dividing us and tearing us apart as a nation right now. So we need to be that light and community now during Christmas more than ever. Let the light of CHRIST shine in you……..others will notice.
What about your neighbors? Be the one neighbor that brings cookies to that one door where you seem to never see the people come and go. They are there just waiting for someone to notice them. Give away HIS love and be HIS light in the world that surrounds you……..
MATTHEW 5: 15-16 “NOR DOES ANYONE LIGHT A LAMP AND PUT IT UNDER A BASKET, BUT ON THE LAMPSTAND, AND IT GIVES LIGHT TO ALL WHO ARE IN THE HOUSE. LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE BEFORE MEN IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS, AND GLORIFY YOUR FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN.”
Let us shine in a way that others notice! GOD gives us everything we need to be bold and kind and compassionate for those around us. Let us notice people this Christmas………because they are GOD’S children too!
2 SAMUEL 3: 36 “AND ALL THE PEOPLE TOOK NOTICE OF IT, AND IT PLEASED THEM……..”
