SUNDAY REFLECTIONS

A friend reminded me recently that…….GOD WON’T WASTE ONE BIT OF OUR TEARS.

2 KINGS 20: 5  “THUS SAYS THE LORD, THE GOD OF DAVID YOUR FATHER.  I HAVE HEARD YOUR PRAYER, I HAVE SEEN YOUR TEARS.  BEHOLD, I WILL HEAL YOU.”

There is a before and there is an after……..I am learning there is a before cancer and an after.  And there are moments, hard moments when your life changes on a dime.

But what about those tears?  Those ones that come on when we least expect them to.  What about not only crying at night on your bed, but with another loved one over a loss or some deep issue?  Tears come and pour down and tears come to be healing too.  We always seem to feel a little better once they are out don’t we???

Let us remember……..when we think no one will ever see or understand our issue as we cry, GOD sees!

PSALM 56: 8  “YOU HAVE KEPT COUNT OF MY TOSSINGS; PUT MY TEARS IN YOUR BOTTLE.  ARE THEY NOT IN YOUR BOOK?”

Notice the scripture says: “put my tears in YOUR BOTTLE”!  The tears we wipe away carefully or in haste so no one will see, GOD collects in HIS time, in HIS bottle.  And why?  Because HE is that compassionate and loving and caring!  We are not ever alone in our tears…….ever.

Our tears surrendered to our LOVING FATHER are counted and cherished in a bottle.  I can imagine it is a quite beautiful one too.  And it sits somewhere where the eyes of our SAVIOR can see it.  Because JESUS knows our hearts, and knows our messy tears, our angry ones and our desperate ones too!!!  HE has walked our pain before and reaches out to us when we need HIM most.  So wherever you are, cry out to HIM and let HIM count your tears and let HIM gently reach underneath your precious sweet chin to look you square in the eye to tell you…….”YOU are loved more than you will ever know!”

HE is our hope, our forever comforter our wonderful SAVIOR, IMMANUEL, our GOD with us!

ISAIAH 25: 8 “……..AND THE LORD GOD WILL WIPE AWAY TEARS FROM ALL FACES.”

  2. It’s comforting to know that God hears the silent words in our tears & knows why they come pouring out.
