WHY YOU SHOULDN’T BE SQUEEZED INTO A CHRISTIAN MOLD.

This is one of my most favorite pictures taken since we moved to AZ of myself with my sweet friend Jen.  I so love her for who she is in CHRIST!  I know GOD has HIS hand on her because every time she visits me, she is more beautiful………inside and out!  I just love everything about her……..and guess what…….. GOD loves everything about you too.

So I have to ask you………are you comparing yourself to other Christians and then trying to be more like them or are you trying to fit into a more GODLY mold, one that is custom fit for you and only you?

What standards do you hold yourself up to and are they GOD’S standards or the world’s standards?

It appears today that women are demanding the respect they think they deserve.  But isn’t respect and honor something that is earned?  If you are walking with GOD, you shouldn’t need to try to be like “her”.  If you are attempting to act and serve like other Christians, forget it, because they aren’t……..you.  Comparing and trying to fit into that Christian mold won’t work.

You see, GOD made just one YOU.  HE knows when you rise and when you sit down.  HE is well acquainted with all your ways and even knows the words on your tongue before you speak them…….PSALM 139: 2-4

So let us stop the comparisons and embrace other women for who they are and accept the way GOD made us.  We are HIS handiwork……..actually dear reader, YOU are a masterpiece and a vessel of HIS to become HOLY and RIGHTEOUS  this side of heaven, just as GOD wants you to be!  Trust in this fact!

If we just leave the growth of our character to GOD, I promise you, HE will do that good work “in us”.  The Spirit is our guide and protector and being faithful and obedient is what GOD asks of us because……..

WE ALL ARE FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE.   PSALM 139:14

As we journey through life with all it’s trials and joys, our spiritual gifts become developed and they are tailor made for us, complete with GOD’S holy touch. But you need to be aware of what they are so you can make the most of them.  As you embrace those gifts, you will find your sweet spot and you will become more YOU.  I have taken more than one spiritual gift test online.  I find they change from one year to the next and I find that GOD is developing those gifts within me to use for HIS KINGDOM right now.  I see that GOD is developing other gifts within me as well, that I didn’t even know I had!

As you go through this life, stop trying to be someone else and just be who GOD made you to be!  STOP trying to fit into that perfect Christian mold…….cause you will fail.  You will fail because GOD wants you to become more like HIM in all your ways and thinking and living.  If you only look to HIM, then GOD will make you and develop you into a BETTER you.  Stop the comparing and start the transformation into the GODLY person you were born to be!  HIS hands are on you for such a time as this and for eternity.  Take comfort that YOU are one of HIS children and precious in HIS sight, just as you are!  Embrace GOD and embrace YOU!

PSALM 139: 7 & 13 “WHERE CAN I GO FROM YOUR SPIRIT? OR WHERE CAN I FLEE FROM YOUR PRESENCE? FOR YOU FORMED MY INWARD PARTS.”

  1. I’m guilty of this & I always come up lacking. God made us all individuals & there’s no one else like us…never has been…never will be. And if God doesn’t compare us to His other Children then why should we?

  2. Excellent point Suzanne!! Just remember you are beautifully and wonderfully made in HIS image. We are our own worst critics and we need to realize that GOD doesn’t make junk!!

  3. Wonderful information and I can relate to this. I always feel like I am behind the curve ball with learning about the bible, and being a better christian woman. I just need to focus on being closer to God and having a better relationship with him than worrying if I measure up to other’s standards or expectations.

  4. YES we all need to embrace how GOD created us and not fall into that trap of what someone else says we need to be or behave as a Christian. When we compare ourselves to others, we always seem to fall short. I fall into that trap of wanting to be more like “her”. But GOD keeps speaking to my heart saying: just be! So be “still and know” who GOD is Valerie! And I am honored to know you friend……..so glad GOD crossed our paths at CENTRAL!

  5. Great truths here, and Psalm 139:14 truly does drive home the fact that God has created each of His children as individuals with our own ordained and planned purposes. Though we can respect and honor others, we should always be looking up when it comes discerning God’s will for us.
