I must admit there are days where my confidence in anything seems to be short lived. Situations in our lives don’t always go as planned. Because of all we need to accomplish in 24 hours we have to plan some, but oh how those plans can go sideways. When that hits me I tend to lose all confidence in what I am doing. Maybe for me it is because long ago I had a nasty coach that told me “you will never……” Peoples words can be cruel and can cut deep and often what was said can stick with us and ruin any confidence we had. But what we are doing with that is listening to man and not listening to our GOD.
HEBREWS 13: 6 “SO WE CAN CONFIDENTLY SAY, THE LORD IS MY HELPER; I WILL NOT FEAR; WHAT CAN MAN DO TO ME?”
I don’t know about you, but oh how I long to be more confident in the LORD! Trying to remain humble and gentle in spirit is a consistent, daily quandary for sure. I certainly don’t want to get over confident! But my confidence should rest in all HIS wonderful promises to me.
JOB 4: 6 “IS NOT YOUR FEAR OF GOD YOUR CONFIDENCE, AND THE INTEGRITY OF YOUR WAYS YOUR HOPE?”
Fear in the LORD gives us the confidence we need…….confidence in HIS eternal promises, confidence that what we read in HIS word is truth, the only truth there is!
If you think about it, is there truly anything in our world you can place your full confidence in? Nothing seems to be as it should. Everything is upside down and messy with chaos mixed in. Nothing makes any sense. We have only our knees to go to these days. To place our confidence in GOD is a secure plan because there is no one like HIM.
PSALM 37: 23-24 “THE STEPS OF A MAN ARE ESTABLISHED BY THE LORD, WHEN HE DELIGHTS IN HIS WAY; THOUGH HE FALL, HE SHALL NOT BE CAST HEADLONG, FOR THE LORD UPHOLDS HIS HAND.”
Let’s be confident in this promise! Our steps are established by HIM who knows all, who sees all. When we delight in HIM, sure we might still fall, we might still sin, but HE will never cast us out. Through it all, the failures and the struggles, HE holds our hand. Remain confident that HE is always there!
BE CONFIDENT THAT THE LORD WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU!
When we delight in the LORD and in HIS promises, HE will not forsake us, or break us. He will redeem us. All this is because HE has established our steps, so let’s rest, confidently in this. Do not let the enemy tell you anything different!
Let our confident refuge always be in the LORD! Because HE sent HIS one and only SON, to die for our sins and because in spite of sinful selves, HE loves us enough to never abandon us or forsake us. Rest humbly and confidently in HIM today friends. And there you will find the peace you are looking for, there you will find the security you are looking for…….because there you will find JESUS waiting for you with open arms!
PROVERBS 3: 26 “FOR THE LORD WILL BE YOUR CONFIDENCE AND WILL KEEP YOUR FOOT FROM BEING CAUGHT.”
