I have no words of the wonderful care I experienced through my walk with cancer. Our people in the health care industry are truly gifted, some may not have a great bedside manner, but I believe most do.
In the midst of all my care, I still was able to focus on, who I could care for? Not everyone has the energy to do this, but since I did, I cared for myself first and GOD gave me enough grace to still care about those around me.
TO CARE FOR ONE ANOTHER REQUIRES COURAGE
Because the world seems so dark and divided, it takes some courage to reach out to others that appear different from us. And being loved by GOD and safe in HIS arms allows you to reach out to let others know that they are loved too.
JOHN 13: 34 “A NEW COMMANDMENT I GIVE TO YOU, THAT YOU LOVE ONE ANOTHER: JUST AS I HAVE LOVED YOU, YOU ALSO ARE TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER.”
Loving others……..live this today. Have courage to love the unloved. Believe me, there are many around us who are not loved. The unloved may be in your very own family, or work, or living next door. Yes, it takes courage to reach out, but if it is done in love, how do you not know that your love might soften a heart or change a mind? So keep at it Christian, keep reaching out and if you think you can’t, ask GOD for the courage!
GOD LOVES US SO DEEPLY……..THERE IS PLENTY OF HIS LOVE TO FLOW THROUGH YOU TO OTHERS.
The well of the LORD is deep, deep enough for you and for me and deep enough for all the peoples of all nations! We need to care for one another, one person at a time. Courage and forgiveness is the beginning of caring and why? Because it’s not about us, it’s about GOD!
Caring is seeing with loving eyes, the eyes of JESUS. We should check ourselves every day to see if we see people as GOD sees.
JEREMIAH 31: 34 “AND NO LONGER SHALL EACH ONE TEACH HIS NEIGHBOR AND EACH HIS BROTHER, SAYING “KNOW THE LORD, FOR THEY SHALL ALL KNOW ME, FROM THE LEAST OF THEM TO THE GREATEST, DECLARES THE LORD, FOR I WILL FORGIVE THEIR INIQUITY, AND I WILL REMEMBER THEIR SIN NO MORE.”
HE will remember our sins no more……..how much more should we be forgiving to those around us. Forgiveness takes courage, but it gives us the freedom, to let go. It gives us the freedom to care. And letting go is worth it! Let the LORD give you the courage to let go. Give HIM the space to move through you, to care for someone. Because you are HIS light, HIS light in the present darkness.
Love……..love……..love. Listen…….listen……..listen. We don’t do enough of this these days. Loving and listening are action words and caring comes from the heart. So listen and love.
CARE MORE FOR OTHERS, THAN YOU CARE FOR YOURSELF.
You won’t get lost in your caring and GOD won’t desert you along the way. HE will walk alongside you as you walk alongside others.
PHILIPPIANS 2: 3 “……..BUT IN HUMILITY COUNT OTHERS MORE SIGNIFICANT THAN YOURSELVES.”
In humility, with courage and love…….care for others. It takes these qualities to love beyond what we think we can do…….but GOD provides and GOD qualifies and HE asks us to care for HIS children.
1 PETER 5: 7 “CAST ALL YOUR ANXIETY ON HIM, BECAUSE HE CARES FOR YOU.”

” HE will walk alongside you as you walk alongside others” – I like that. It reminds me of the words God gave me a while ago: “It’s not about me. God will do His work in me as I do His work in serving others.”
I recently took a long weekend trip to Texas for a nephew’s wedding. I flew, something I hadn’t done in years and years. I was so pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of everyone I saw at airports and on planes: no outbursts; smiles, kind words, encouragement. Maybe I watch too much news, because I was expecting frowns and curtness. This was a blessing from the Lord, and it reminded me of what you say in your post: Let’s be there for each other.

Amen! My trip back to Colorado last June was really nice. Everyone seemed “caring” for those around them, especially on the plane. And everyone who waited on me in restaurants and stores were kind too. I guess you have to get out there to truly see what is going on! But I agree the news finds a way to find every worst story there is!
