SUNDAY REFLECTIONS

In a world full of troubles that are always there, be careful to not give your peace away.  The world tries to define us and remake us and we should resist this knowing who we are in the LORD!

JOHN 14: 27  “PEACE I LEAVE YOU; MY PEACE I GIVE TO YOU.  NOT AS THE WORLD GIVES DO I GIVE TO YOU.  LET NOT YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED, NEITHER LET THEM BE AFRAID.”

HIS peace is our peace.  HIS peace transforms the troubles around us.  HIS peace is not like the world’s peace.  We embrace and keep HIS peace within us, within our grateful hearts.

JOHN 16: 33  “I HAVE SAID THESE THINGS TO YOU, THAT IN ME YOU MAY HAVE PEACE.  IN THE WORLD YOU WILL HAVE TRIBULATION.  BUT TAKE HEART; I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD.”

In HIM……..you will have peace.  Not in the world……will you ever find peace!  The world may take from us and destroy all we know…….but in HIM there is peace!

So don’t ever give your peace away…….away to problems or to people that are toxic.  Find your peace in JESUS, because HE is drawing your heart into HIS unending peace.  It is a peace that is eternal, a pearl to be found and experienced like nothing else.

Most often a peace that goes beyond all understanding comes upon those who pray and draw near to the LORD. How often have we prayed and a peace comes over us in our struggles.  We cannot explain it, but it is there.  It is a peace that tells us, all will work out in HIM.  GOD is in control and taking care of it, whatever it is!

I have a wonderful friend who has reminded me continually not to let anyone steal my joy!  And this can be said of peace too…….don’t let those around you destroy it or take it away.  Instead run to the ONE who gives peace and not confusion……

1 CORINTHIANS 14: 33 “FOR GOD IS NOT A GOD OF CONFUSION BUT OF PEACE.”

Because we are redeemed by the LORD and forgiven of our sins, we are at peace with the LORD!   It is a truth we need to hang on to…….this peace with the GOD of the universe.

On this Sunday……sit quiet with HIS peace.  Draw into it and near it, clear your mind and rest.  It is the LORD’S day.  May HIS peace be with you!

ISAIAH 32: 18  “MY PEOPLE WILL ABIDE IN A PEACEFUL HABITATION, IN SECURE DWELLINGS, AND IN QUIET RESTING PLACES.”

  1. Even God grieved, Jesus wept. Those feelings are normal and natural. We must grieve for those things that are happening all around us.
But thanks be to our Living God, we can maintain our peace through Him. He will bring us back to that joy that we find only in Him.

  3. There is no peace in this world filled with sin and deception and that is why the Lord gives us His peace in our hearts. Thanks for sharing this encouraging word. Blessings
