UNIFY AND GLORIFY

Honestly there is no place right now that I would rather be than in Church.  I wake up usually on the weekend looking so forward to it that there is joy within me.  We do sing songs before we hear the word preached and our worship team is a good one.

PSALM 132: 7  “LET US GO TO HIS DWELLING PLACE; LET US WORSHIP AT HIS FOOTSTOOL!”

We all need a place to belong……..and when I attend Church I belong with a group of other Christians who are gathered together to worship and unify with one another in our minds, hearts and souls.  I feel more unity there than anywhere else on earth right now.

Our arms are raised in unity…….glorifying HIM.  We are one body, there to worship the ONE TRUE GOD.  And oh how the worship lifts!  Oh how the worship convicts!  I leave there completely full, my spirit is lifted high to want to do anything for the LORD and to love HIM with all my heart.

I know that I cannot feel this “high” anywhere else.  My times alone with GOD are reverent and solemn.  But my times in unity with others touches my soul in a deep way.

THERE IS JOY TO BE FOUND IN UNASHAMED WORSHIP

One of the four tenets of our Church is “unashamed worship”.  I love this idea.  Why would we ever feel ashamed worshiping before our wonderful GOD?  But maybe you do, maybe you are worried about what other people think of you if you raise your hands high, rather than what GOD thinks of your worship.

We can worship in private or public and when in public our voice is unified with others around us and all the voices of heaven too!  What a wonderful thought!  There is a lift in spirit just knowing that millions of voices are raised in that moment and there is this too……..

MATTHEW 18: 20  “FOR WHERE TWO OR THREE ARE GATHERED IN MY NAME, THERE AM I AMONG THEM.”

GOD is among us in all our unity and in all our worship!  Pondering this gives me pause……. a pause to be still and know this deep deep down……..

PSALM 46: 10  “BE STILL, AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD.  I WILL BE EXALTED AMONG THE NATIONS, I WILL BE EXALTED IN THE EARTH.”

Read this again in the NLT version:

PSALM 46: 10  “BE STILL, AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD!  I WILL BE HONORED BY EVERY NATION.  I WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.”

The LORD says HE will be honored, HE will be exalted.  Gathering with the Body of Christ is an honor to begin with let alone a huge honor before GOD!

I am so very thankful that I can see and feel unity in Church…….just a small piece of heaven on earth.  It’s just a small wondering of “is this what heaven is like”?

YOU CAN FEEL AND SEE HIS GLORY AROUND YOU IN WORSHIP

Just take a moment and see……..see those around you in worship too.  Listen to the voices raised high.  See all the faces.  Close your eyes for a moment and listen.   All the worship is going up, vertical towards our GOD.

PSALM 29: 2  “ASCRIBE TO THE LORD THE GLORY DUE HIS NAME; WORSHIP THE LORD IN THE SPLENDOR OF HOLINESS.”

When we worship and surrender in obedience before GOD with open hands…….there is joy to be found there.  Sometimes we might not feel like it, but let’s not let the moment pass us by, to know that GOD is in the midst of the worship that very day, that very moment!  Let’s not go through the motions, let’s worship unashamed in joy and gladness that HIS salvation is for us and so is HIS faithful love.

Bring your unashamed worship before HIM today, give GOD your whole heart, your tears and your love.  If you are blessed enough to worship in unity with other believers then see that in a new light, see that as unity, unity from the FATHER.  We are HIS children, born to worship and born to believe.

1 CHRONICLES 16:  28-29  “ASCRIBE TO THE LORD, O FAMILIES OF THE PEOPLES, ASCRIBE TO THE LORD GLORY AND STRENGTH!  ASCRIBE TO THE LORD THE GLORY DUE HIS NAME; BRING AN OFFERING AND COME BEFORE HIM!”

  1. I like it when I know most of the words to a hymn we sing, because then I can look around as we sing, whether Sunday morning or Wednesday evening. I so appreciate the sound of many voices lifted up in song, praising God, experiencing His magnificence together.
