SUNDAY REFLECTIONS

None of us go through this life without tough times, wonderful times and small insignificant times.  Our times are in GOD’S hands.  And how many times do we ask HIM:  is this really part of your plan LORD?

WE ALL MUST DRINK FROM THE CUP SOONER OR LATER.

Yes, even this, even now, wherever we are and whatever comes our way, we must drink from the cup because the LORD did also…….

1 CORINTHIANS 10: 16  “THE CUP OF BLESSING THAT WE BLESS, IS IT NOT A PARTICIPATION IN THE BLOOD OF CHRIST?”

JESUS said in JOHN 18: 11  “shall I not drink the cup the FATHER has given me?”  Sooner or later we all too, drink from the cup.  It is and can be a cup of suffering or a cup of blessing.  But all and all it truly is a cup of salvation for us, given to us from the FATHER.

This cup from the FATHER is full……..full of GOD’S mercy and grace.  HIS cup is full for us always, even when we tend to see our cups half empty.  And even when we question all that comes our way.

Each one of our cups from the LORD are full of HIS grace and mercy and blessings.  Let’s remember that JESUS drank from the cup too……HIS FATHER sent HIS cup of suffering upon JESUS and sometimes HE sends a cup of suffering on us too.  Can we drink deeply from it when it comes?

And when JESUS held that cup HE said:

MARK 14: 36  “ABBA, FATHER, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE FOR YOU.  REMOVE THIS CUP FROM ME.  YET NOT WHAT I WILL, BUT WHAT YOU WILL.”

Like JESUS we drink from our cups given daily to us and like JESUS we should say not by our will but by your will LORD!   It is GOD’S will for us whether we understand it or not. Let’s drink deeply what the LORD sends to us which is HIS very presence!

GOD’S VERY OWN PRESENCE CAN BE FOUND IN THAT CUP!

And so this cup is HIS will, HIS plan, HIS presence.  So even this, even now, even today our cups are truly full, not half full or even empty.   Whether it is hardship or blessing, it all comes from the LORD!

Today take your cup designed especially for you and no one else……..hold it securely and drink.  Then thank the FATHER for giving it to you, all of it.

PSALM 16: 5  “LORD, YOU ALONE ARE MY INHERITANCE, MY CUP OF BLESSING.  YOU GUARD ALL THAT IS MINE.”

Oh that we accept with honor HIS cup for us, the cup of the New Covenant.  The cup that JESUS died for,  to save us.  Let’s remember HIS cup today and thank HIM.  Thank HIM for a cup overflowing to you today on this SUNDAY.

1 CORINTHIANS 11: 25  “THIS CUP IS THE NEW COVENANT IN MY BLOOD.”

  1. I love what you say about drinking deeply from the cup the Father gives us – He loves us and gives us only those things for our good / for the good of others. It is always a cup of love.
