Two steps forward, one step back. Ever feel this way? I can feel my spiritual journey moving forward, but it’s the hard difficulties that trip me up, that make me question everything I know, or do they? Often I am beset by difficulties.
Everything does and will not go perfectly and smoothly in this life. When we encounter one difficulty and see it through with GOD by our side, another difficulty is right around the corner. Why do some people have it harder than others? That’s always my question.
ACTS 14: 22 “…….THROUGH MANY TRIBULATIONS WE MUST ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD.”
No one gets on in this life without difficulties, whether you are a Christian or not. The rain falls upon us all at one time or another. The above scripture says we must go through difficulties and we then must persevere to the Kingdom. We can look backward to remember, but we are not meant to stay there and live in those moments, no, we are to continuously move forward…….always with our eyes upon GOD and where our ultimate resting place will be…….the Kingdom.
Paul had a concern for his fellow believers………he wanted them to know that tribulations must come, because the dark always gives way to the light, GOD’S light. And the broken find beauty in HIS light and grace.
It is the only way, HIS way that when these difficulties come, those besetting ones, that we rely upon the GOD who helps us in our weakness and helps us to overcome. No trial is fun while it is happening. Often we do not see the reason or understand, but what we can understand is that GOD will never abandon us in the trial. HE sees us through to the other side and HE does this perfectly for us.
ACTS 15: 16-17 “AFTER THIS I WILL RETURN AND REBUILD THE FALLEN TENT OF DAVID. IT’S RUINS I WILL REBUILD AND I WILL RESTORE IT, SO THAT THE REMNANT OF MEN MAY SEEK THE LORD………”
Our difficulties may surround us and hem us in from every side……..but GOD rebuilds and restores and does it better than we ever could. So take comfort today when you are beset by difficulties. Two steps forward and one backward is ok because GOD is doing a good work in you that will one day come to completion…….for the KINGDOM!

Thank you for this. We are experiencing some ‘trouble’ among some church people. Some deep lies must be rooted out of a hurting person, and I’m sure God means for this to affect and cleanse many.

Ugh Kathy that is hard. I know our pastor Adam keeps preaching on unity under Christ……period. That way if everyone is on that page then the division should not be there for all the other stuff in life like politics, race, etc. Unity……CHRIST only……CHRIST centered. But I know that GOD will work all this out in your case! I am confident!
