IMMOVABLE

OUR GOD is immovable.  HE is solid as a rock and so is HIS word.  This is an eternal thing, because GOD is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.  GOD lifted HIS hand and the earth was formed and everything in it.  And HE has formed you and me too.  HE is omnipotent and sovereign over all things…….forever, period.

GOD DOES NOT MOVE, HE DOES NOT CHANGE……..EVER.

And because HE is the ROCK OF AGES, HE is to be praised like none other.  You can read often in the word that HE is called a ROCK over and over……..

2 SAMUEL 22: 47  “THE LORD LIVES, AND BLESSED BE MY ROCK, AND EXALTED BE MY GOD, THE ROCK OF MY SALVATION.”

When we are at our weakest, HE is our rock.  When we rejoice in HIM, HE is the rock……..immovable.  If you think about it, everything else on this planet moves in some way.  And humans seem to always look for that rock……that one thing to make them feel safe, to find a refuge place that makes them feel important.  Humans want some type of religion, even now unbelievers cling to climate change and social efforts as their go to.  Our society is seeking right now in all the wrong places.

PSALM 71: 3  “BE MY ROCK OF REFUGE, TO WHICH I CAN ALWAYS GO; GIVE THE COMMAND TO SAVE ME, FOR YOU ARE MY ROCK AND MY FORTRESS.”

GOD being immovable is all that we can count upon…….isn’t that wonderful?

PSALM 18: 2  “THE LORD IS MY ROCK, MY FORTRESS AND MY DELIVERER; MY GOD IS MY ROCK, IN WHOM I TAKE REFUGE, MY SHIELD AND THE HORN OF MY SALVATION, MY STRONGHOLD.”

And what a ROCK HE is!  When we are weak HE is strong, when we don’t know where to turn, HE is there.  When we sin and repent, HE is there, always there.  And when we seek HIM with all our broken hearts, HE gives greater grace than we could ever know.

My experience with cancer has taught me how immovable GOD is.  HE was and is there with me through all the ups and downs of treatments, through all my doubts and worries and every waking moment.  I learned to stand upon the ROCK when I was so shaky I felt like I was walking on egg shells.  Cancer rocks your world in a way.  Your life stops and your journey takes a turn into the unknown, the uncertain.  And as humans we like certainty, we like sure things don’t we?

PSALM 140: 13  “SURELY THE RIGHTEOUS WILL PRAISE YOUR NAME, AND THE UPRIGHT WILL LIVE IN YOUR PRESENCE.”

Yes, we love sure things, we are drawn to them.  And when you love GOD, you are drawn to HIM more and more because you see HIM as the only consistent being in your life.  When everyone else around you fails, HE does not……ever.

HE IS IMMOVABLE IN HIS LOVE FOR US TOO.

So today if you are walking on eggshells, or walking on solid ground know the ROCK of AGES is there with you.  HE is an immovable force, an immovable love, our amazing immovable GOD!

ACTS 17: 28  “FOR IN HIM WE LIVE AND MOVE AND HAVE OUR BEING.”
