WHEN THERE DOESN’T SEEM MUCH TO GIVE THANKS FOR

You may be in a snowy winter wonderland today……..or like me, I see clouds and rain.  But wherever you are, have you looked outside to see HIS HAND?  Start your day there and realize that GOD gave you the blessing of another day, another 24 hours.

Life does yield more than we realize.  Oh…….. we are an ungrateful people.  When we receive blessing upon blessing, we still want more!  When the Christmas presents have all been opened, we are still in the stores looking for more!  But our lives should not center around material, or the likes of social media, or news or politics.

If GOD never did anything at all more for us, wouldn’t HIS salvation be enough?  What is enough?  Because when you look long at your life as a whole you realize one thing:  that with GOD alone there is deliverance from that sinful life you lead.

PSALM 27: 1  “THE LORD IS MY LIGHT AND MY SALVATION – WHOM SHALL I FEAR?”

Because of the light…….we walk in HIS salvation.  Because JESUS died on the Cross for us, we now know salvation came for us, we need only to believe.

PSALM 85:9  “SURELY HIS SALVATION IS NEAR THOSE WHO FEAR HIM…….”

And with the world imploding around us, where do we go?  Where do we go for comfort and security?  Because the world cannot offer this to us…….only our LORD and SAVIOR can.  HE provides where nothing else can and HE protects when asked because……..

WITH GOD NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!

Our GOD is there for us, for us to glorify and worship.  Let’s be thankful for that!  HE is there and always is!  That you may count upon because HIS promises tell us so…….

PSALM 34: 18  “THE LORD IS NEAR TO THE BROKENHEARTED AND SAVES THE CRUSHED IN SPIRIT.”

You are never alone my friend, and neither am I.  What a blessing to know this and to walk in it.

Surround yourself with other believers, because it’s needed more now than ever before in our lifetimes.  Don’t isolate yourself, because the world and the enemy seems to be conveying this message to us these days.  Because, the company of other believers, the Body of Christ, will bless you and comfort you.

EPHESIANS 1: 13-14  “AND YOU ALSO WERE INCLUDED IN CHRIST WHEN YOU HEARD THE MESSAGE OF TRUTH,  THE GOSPEL OF YOUR SALVATION.  WHEN YOU BELIEVED, YOU WERE MARKED IN HIM WITH A SEAL, THE PROMISED HOLY SPIRIT WHO IS A DEPOSIT GUARANTEEING OUR INHERITANCE UNTIL THE REDEMPTION OF THOSE WHO ARE GOD’S POSSESSION – TO THE PRAISE OF HIS GLORY.”

Oh, the glory of the LORD!  Oh the glory of other people who love the LORD too!  Oh the glory in HIS skies!  There is then, much to be thankful for, even when we do not see, even when there doesn’t seem much to be thankful for!  HIS salvation, GOD’S glory, GOD’S wonder…….all of it is enough, enough to be eternally grateful to a GOD who came down from Heaven to die for all of our sins!  HE has marked us through the Holy Spirit to be……..HIS.  If you cannot find one thing to be grateful for……be grateful for this:  a loving GOD who has opened your eyes to HIS salvation and wonder.  Be blessed today, knowing that because of HIS abundant love, mercy and grace, HE blesses us more than we will ever realize and more than we can ever know!  And even when there doesn’t seem much to be thankful for, be thankful for HIM!

PSALM 116: 8 – 9  “FOR YOU, LORD HAVE DELIVERED ME FROM DEATH, MY EYES FROM TEARS, MY FEET FROM STUMBLING, THAT I MAY WALK BEFORE THE LORD IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING.”

  1. Praise the Lord!!!
We got two feet of snow between yesterday and today. When we prayed together, my husband and I thanked God for His blessings and for whatever His purposes were for this. We thought maybe God wants families to stay home, play games, hug.
And we got a huge blessing from a dear friend when he drove us to the doctor this morning (what a LOT of snow) for a needed medical procedure for my husband. All is well now, with much physical relief. We are indeed counting our blessings and praising our LORD!
Thank you for your encouraging post.
