Thank GOD for trees and their deep roots. They give us shelter from the sun and rain. And their beauty in winter doesn’t fade with the dusting of snow. It is truly amazing that even after their season of winter they bud again in the spring with new life. It’s a renewal that they experience because their roots run deep.
And our roots should run deep into the LORD. The true root of everything, all our knowledge, praise, worship and study come from GOD. Let’s be rooted in HIM this coming year.
Scripture refers much to trees, roots, stumps etc. Read this one now…….
ISAIAH 11: 1-2 “THERE SHALL COME FORTH A SHOOT FROM THE STUMP OF JESSE, AND A BRANCH FROM HIS ROOTS SHALL BEAR FRUIT. AND THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD SHALL REST UPON HIM, THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING, THE SPIRIT OF COUNSEL AND MIGHT, THE SPIRIT OF KNOWLEDGE AND THE FEAR OF THE LORD.”
When we are rooted in GOD, we understand and know HIS promises to us and HIS provision for us. HIS truth for us never fails!
This year let’s set aside resolutions that honestly are never kept past February. We all want health and happiness for ourselves and our families and friends. But let’s use the word resolve instead……..
Resolve to be more LOVING
Resolve to grow in FAITH
Resolve to abide in CHRIST
Resolve to read and memorize the WORD
Resolve to spread the GOSPEL
And we can add much more to this list. Just know that all of the above can never be accomplished without the true root and that is JESUS CHRIST. So go to HIM today…….this special day of the New Year. It is a fresh start to walk closer with the GOD of the Universe who will guide you and love you all through this next year!
Yes! We shall be like trees planted by the rivers of water, with our roots deep in the Living Water of Christ.
And
He is our vine, we are His branches; we abide in Him, and He in us. We shall bring forth much fruit in this new year, as we depend on His grace. For without Him, we can do nothing.
