SUNDAY REFLECTIONS

I have been lighting a candle each day.  The flame burns brightly in the early a.m. and it chases away the darkness.

PSALM 112: 4  “LIGHT DAWNS IN THE DARKNESS FOR THE UPRIGHT; HE IS GRACIOUS, MERCIFUL, AND RIGHTEOUS.”

GOD’S light is guidance for us……..it’s a beacon of hope just like those lighthouses that guide ships to keep them from crashing on shore.  I have been to a few lighthouses in my day along our southern shores of the United States.  Each lighthouse has a story and a reason for being where it is.  And GOD in us is a light that has a story too and a reason for us being exactly where we are.

In our own efforts, there is darkness due to our flesh.  But when the spirit ignites within us, oh, how brightly we may shine!

ISAIAH 2: 5  “O HOUSE OF JACOB COME, LET US WALK IN THE LIGHT OF THE LORD.”

Look intently at the flame of HIS love……..see HIS brilliance and the warmth that draws you near.

JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF LIFE!

And in Matthew 5: 14  JESUS has told us that “you are the light of the world.”  You and I are that beacon of light to those around us who may be lost.  Shine so brightly that others draw near……..

MATTHEW 5: 16  “IN THE SAME WAY, LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE BEFORE OTHERS, SO THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS AND GIVE GLORY TO YOUR FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN.”

Let others see your light from the Kingdom of Heaven…….draw near to the flame yourself each and every day.

So today……..Sunday…….light a candle and remind yourself, who you are in CHRIST.  Because you belong to the HIS brilliant light, an eternal light…….a light for all the world to see!

ISAIAH 60: 20  “…….FOR THE LORD WILL BE YOUR EVERLASTING LIGHT.”

  1. I have been feeling quite gloomy these past few days through the pain and the miserable weather so I can’t even get out. This idea of lighting a candle sounds as though it might bring a feeling of peace. Thank you for this idea. God bless you.

    1. YES! Please do it every day if you can! It will become a “thing” and you will be lifted in spirit too. Bless you brother in CHRIST! Hugs from Arizona too. We are still HOT here……ugh. So I cannot get out much either.
