An insight I had recently is that there is nothing like thinking your body has turned against you. You ask GOD, how can this be, and HE answers “now, how are you going to live?”
I won’t lie, it is frightening hearing the word cancer. Doesn’t matter what kind, it still is cancer in your body. Cancer is a big word with big implications. And suddenly your simple life becomes filled with doctors and procedures. Life changes to a fight for that very life you somehow took for granted.
Numbers somehow are comforting knowing there are many others that are going through what you are. And you look at people differently…….wondering. I wonder how they are able to deal with their cancer, especially if they don’t believe in GOD. For many the word cancer means a death sentence, but when you have JESUS in your life, you see this new journey as an opportunity to glorify GOD and to live more fully in HIM.
GOD FINDS A WAY TO TOUCH OUR LIVES TO HELP US GROW IN DIFFERENT SEASONS BECAUSE OF HIS SPIRITUAL GRACE.
1 CORINTHIANS 15: 10 “BUT BY THE GRACE OF GOD I AM WHAT I AM, AND HIS GRACE TOWARD ME WAS NOT IN VAIN.”
Yes, right now I am what I am, but not without HIS grace for me! And HIS grace for me tells me, that my body might be broken, but that my Spirit can become even stronger.
2 PETER 3: 18 “BUT GROW IN THE GRACE AND KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.”

In the midst of my current journey, there is still growth to be attained. HE is working on my soul to draw me near and to truly learn what it means to walk with GOD. GOD knows how HE can best be glorified by what I am going through. I can grow in knowledge of our great GOD, because the well is very deep and I need to completely jump in!
I trust that GOD knows what is best for me and HE knows how HE can best be glorified, magnified and worshiped in all things…….even in the midst of cancer.
I don’t pretend to know GOD’S reasons for all the pain and suffering around us. I only know that joy can be found when you take the focus off of yourself for a moment and truly look at JESUS CHRIST and what HE did for you. GOD is a gracious and good GOD and someday we will be with HIM. What a joyous thought!
PSALM 63: 2 “SO I GAZE ON YOU IN THE SANCTUARY TO SEE YOUR STRENGTH AND YOUR GLORY.”
So if you are reading this and on a similar journey…….don’t let the cancer define you. Find freedom in GOD’S promises to you. Let our gracious and loving GOD define you for who you really are……a blessed child of a KING!
“In the midst of my current journey, there is still growth to be attained. HE is working on my soul to draw me near and to truly learn what it means to walk with GOD.”
Amen, Maxine. You have chosen to take a positive outlook on your circumstances and are proving to be an encouragement for all of us and whatever it is we are going through.
May God bless you richly during these challenging days, and I will certainly continue praying for you!

Indeed, though the path is not easy, growth is necessary, to strengthen our faith. For , in the midst of what our hearts face, God’s grace is still amazing. His love is our peace, His heart our refuge!
Father, thank You that we can find comfort in your love, that we can bring our heart, to the foot of the cross. I put cancer, and leave every medical diagnosis, at the foot of your heart. Whatever we face, your grace is bigger, than our circumstance. I pray, your love will meet Maxine, at the place where she finds her heart! In Jesus’ name, Amen! I will add you, to my prayer list. Blessings to you!

“HE knows how HE can best be glorified, magnified and worshiped in all things” SO true! His ways are not our ways, His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. We cannot comprehend how or why He does anything; but we KNOW He does these things for His glory, and because He loves us so perfectly.
I am so blessed to read how you are placing yourself at the foot of His cross, worshiping and glorifying and magnifying our Lord. Thank you for your encouragement.
I lift my prayers to God for you and your family.
