SUNDAY REFLECTIONS

I recently read this on a TV monitor in a doctor’s office…….

LIVE WELL ON YOUR JOURNEY.

It struck me as if GOD were speaking to me…….that a health diagnosis is not necessarily the end of your life, but something GOD will take you through.  And I am to live it well.  So what does that mean?

ISAIAH 38:17  “……..BUT IN LOVE YOU HAVE DELIVERED MY LIFE FROM THE PIT OF DESTRUCTION, FOR YOU CAST ALL MY SINS BEHIND YOUR BACK.”

Isn’t it everything and a joy to know that HE has delivered us from destruction?  Isn’t knowing this truly is enough for us on our journey?  Isn’t living well a response to HIS gracious redemption for us?  And living out our journeys means giving GOD the glory right in the midst of trials and hardships.  Because HE allows what happens to us for a reason……to live our lives well……for HIM!

I don’t know why I have this health journey, but I do know I will glorify my GOD through it.  I want to live it all out well for HIM!  So LORD, see me through this and hold my hand.  I don’t doubt YOUR love, grace and mercy…….not just for me, but for all of YOUR children!

LIVE YOUR LIFE WELL FOR THE LORD!

Yes, live it well with integrity, perseverance and much love.  We are all on a journey to our final destination.  Let’s make our journeys count for something so that when we stand before CHRIST, HE will say: “well done, good and faithful servant.”

1 JOHN 5: 11-12  “AND THIS IS THE TESTIMONY, THAT GOD GAVE US ETERNAL LIFE, AND THIS LIFE IS IN HIS SON.  WHOEVER HAS THE SON HAS LIFE; WHOEVER DOES NOT HAVE THE SON OF GOD DOES NOT HAVE LIFE.”

  1. Great thoughts here, Maxine. I’m not sure what your health challenges are, but you have decided to devote them to God’s glory, and this is an encouragement to your readers. I’ll be praying for you.

    1. Oh David! You so touched my heart! And such affirmation to me. GOD has clearly spoken to me in this. I am remaining vertical with praise and glory. James 1: 2!!! Thanks so much for your prayers too.

  2. We have been faced with a health journey as well with my husband. It is curable, but there’s a lot of why do we have to do this? Can we afford it? And so on as you probably know. Each day the “idea” of it gets more familiar and the shock wears off. Then you are left with, “Well, it’s got to be done”

God is still so good to us, don’t you agree? Praying for you

    1. Yes Amy I so relate to what you said: once the shock wears off! GOD spoke to me as far as saying: remember, you still have to live! And on my checkout at the doctors this past week was a sign: YOU ARE LOVED! Our Church embraces this saying every single Sunday!

      1. So glad to hear the encouragement in your words. Because I believe it takes one to know one and there is that in prayer it makes the prayers all that much powerful. Pray that Wednesday the Dr tells us that it was not a cancerous tumor they removed and no further testing will need to be done.

      2. Yes Amy! I sure will. Yes hearing “cancer” is a hard thing. I have recently joined that club. BUT GOD is so good and I know HE has me safely in HIS capable hands! HE has your family too. I will remember you Wednesday!

  3. Maxine, I am blessed to be a witness to your faithful service to our great God. Thank you for bringing us into your praise to His glory. God has laid a foundation in you, for such a time as this. He is that foundation, and upon that Rock in you, He is building His kingdom. That Rock, that Anchor, resides in all of us as His children; we build with Him His kingdom on Earth.
    I am praying for you.
