ALONE BUT NOT ALONE

Do you feel alone today?  Are you alone in the real sense of alone or do you just feel alone?  Many people live alone and I know a few.  They say the consistent quiet can rock you to your soul.  Some people can feel alone in a room full of people too.  Being alone is something all of us deal with at one time or another.

WITH OUR GRACIOUS GOD YOU ARE NEVER ALONE.

JOHN 16: 32  “YET, I AM NOT ALONE, FOR THE FATHER IS WITH ME.”  JESUS told HIS disciples that HE wasn’t alone even in HIS darkest hour.  And we are not alone either.

I have in the past felt alone in a room crowded with people and I felt like no one noticed me.  But really that was a self problem.  Feeling alone is just that: feeling!

OFTEN OUR FEELINGS CANNOT BE TRUSTED…….BUT WE CAN PUT OUR FULL TRUST IN GOD and HIS WORD.

Let’s remind ourselves of this…….

PSALM 119:  89  “LORD YOUR WORD IS FOREVER; IT IS FIRMLY FIXED IN HEAVEN.”

What do we trust these days?  We cannot trust our government or anyone in the media.  Nor can we trust people and their reactions.  Some are quite harmful.  Seems like all of life right now is off kilter.  So we must daily stand upon the ROCK and HIS word. It is HIS word that has stood the test of time, thousands of years and counting!

Our GOD is the ROCK of AGES!  HIS word and HIS promises can be trusted!  They never disappoint or lead us in the wrong direction.  So that feeling alone is a signal to go to the WORD and find your comfort there.  Find your center there and find your peace because HE will meet you there in that moment.

ISAIAH 26: 3-4  “YOU KEEP HIM IN PERFECT PEACE WHOSE MIND IS STAYED ON YOU, BECAUSE HE TRUSTS IN YOU.  TRUST IN THE LORD FOREVER, FOR THE LORD GOD IS AN EVERLASTING ROCK.”

I would much rather trust the SOURCE rather than my own feelings which so often lead me astray.  Our feelings and feelings of being alone are taken by the enemy and twisted.  He so often whispers to us that no one cares for us……no one.  But when you have GOD of the universe, HE says HE will never leave you……ever!  It is HIS promise to us and if you trust GOD with the whole of your heart, you know HE never breaks any of HIS promises!

HEBREWS 13: 5 “……..FOR HE HIMSELF HAS SAID, “NEVER WILL I LEAVE YOU, NEVER WILL I FORSAKE YOU.”

Just focus for a minute on one word in that above scripture that is repeated: never.  Hang on to it with all of your might and be assured that HIS word is true.  Remember that you are a part of the larger body of CHRIST.  And we are all a family of HIS, no matter how we are scattered to the ends of the earth.  No matter how you feel or what anyone tells you today or tomorrow and no matter your situation,  with GOD and GOD alone, you are never alone, not now and not ever!  Stand upon the ROCK of AGES, because HE will stand by your side now and for all of eternity.  And remind yourself today that  you truly are never alone!

ISAIAH 41: 10  “SO DO NOT FEAR, FOR I AM WITH YOU; DO NOT BE DISMAYED, FOR I AM YOUR GOD.  I WILL STRENGTHEN YOU AND HELP YOU; I WILL UPHOLD YOU WITH MY RIGHTEOUS RIGHT HAND.”

  1. You quoted one of my favorite hang-on-to-Me verses in Isaiah 26.3, 4 (note, my dear, a typo in your post ♥, which I know you do not want there – and you can delete this reply later, if you like 😊).
Having been single most of my life (until I was 52), I did feel alone, unwanted, forsaken. I also didn’t know Christ for much of that time. With God in my life, I met so many other Christians. God brought me a whole new family of love. I have learned to trust in Him day by day.

  2. Thanks, Maxine. What a beautiful reminder of His love and faithfulness. There’s a reason why solitary confinement is considered the most severe punishment. Humans need companionship, and without Christ, we have no guarantees. But with Him, we are never alone. That is such a comfort. (And a powerful deterrent when we are tempted. There’s no such thing as a “secret sin.” God sees it all.) I’m so grateful He’s always with me. ❤
