Now that Resurrection Day has come, let us live it each day and remember, because JESUS’ dying for us is relevant every single moment. Let’s remind ourselves why HE died for us! And because of HIS sacrifice, HE welcomes us every day back to the foot of the CROSS. HE welcomes us there. Even there HE welcomed a criminal into paradise!
And so because of our daily battles…….HE welcomes us. HE knows our biggest battle, truly is our unbelief. We battle all sorts of things and people too, even the world around us.
PSALM 18: 39 “YOU HAVE CLOTHED ME WITH STRENGTH FOR BATTLE; YOU DAILY SUBDUE MY ADVERSARIES BENEATH ME.”
We walk daily in battle, but we also walk by faith. Our sanctifying belief, gives us a renewed hope each and every day. But even then, sometimes we battle our own unbelief. Why is that?
BELIEVING JESUS WELCOMES US TO THE CROSS IS A HARD CONCEPT WHEN YOU SEE YOURSELF FOR THE WRETCH THAT YOU ARE!
BUT GOD! HE daily transforms us at the CROSS and we are welcomed there in whatever state we are in. We don’t need to get cleaned up, or to get our act together, we just need to come into HIS open welcoming arms! And let’s remember this……
JOHN 3: 36 “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN THE SON HAS ETERNAL LIFE.”
Sometimes we think JESUS doesn’t want to have anything to do with us, because we continue to sin. But even there HE welcomes us to repent and HE washes us clean again……so don’t turn from HIM, go to HIM, no matter your state.
MARK 9: 24 “LORD, I BELIEVE; HELP MY UNBELIEF.”

We all have those blind spots, spots where we don’t even see our unbelief. Places where we are living as my Pastor Adam says, as practical atheists. Places where we are doing things on our own and not letting JESUS in! Remember HE welcomes all our fear, all our shortcomings and all our wretched souls. HE doesn’t turn away from us……it is us who turn away from HIM. BUT…….HE sees us as we are in our sin condition.
1 JOHN 1: 7 “BUT IF WE WALK IN THE LIGHT, AS HE IS IN THE LIGHT, WE HAVE FELLOWSHIP WITH ONE ANOTHER, AND THE BLOOD OF JESUS HIS SON CLEANSES US FROM ALL SIN.”
His blood shed at the CROSS was shed for us and it is finished. JESUS was the perfect sacrifice for our sins. We cannot do a thing to atone for them……only JESUS does this for us.
Let’s not run away, but run toward our SAVIOR, JESUS! HE waits for us with open arms! And HE loves us and forgives us. What a wonderful SAVIOR to have! HIS invitation is one of truth and light and salvation and eternal life. Let HIM welcome you today!
PSALM 86: 15 “BUT YOU, O LORD, ARE A GOD MERCIFUL AND GRACIOUS, SLOW TO ANGER AND ABOUNDING IN STEADFAST LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS.”
A welcoming Savior indeed! Thank you, Maxine.

Each morning, during my devotions, I set aside time for confession. I pray for God to search my heart and know my heart; to try me and know my thoughts; to see what wicked ways I follow, and tell me, that I may confess.
But I also confess that I don’t want to look too hard at what He wants to show me. I might want to keep some sin He wants me to give up. (Even saying that, I cringe.) But I always, always know He loves me, welcomes me, cares for me. And sometimes I just fall on my face and beg Him to reveal to me what I need to confess because I love Him so much, and I know He wants to bless me.
Fickle being that I am, I love my Lord.
