STEADFAST AND IMMOVABLE

Standing before a huge mass of rock or mountain gives you the realization that what is before you is immovable.  I lived in Colorado over 30 years and know those Rocky Mountains will never move.

As we mature, our faith should become immovable, and steadfast with the ability to weather whatever comes our way.  Difficult circumstances should not sway us or shake us.  I think our year of 2020 has taught some of us what remaining steadfast in our faith truly means.

JOB 11:15  “YES, YOU COULD BE STEADFAST AND NOT FEAR.”

In March when the virus hit, I will admit that I was fearful.  Don’t we fear what we don’t know?  But in that fear I ran to HIS word and I continued to be faithful to the text and I remained steadfast and soon that fear was gone.  I read PSALM 91 in a way that I never had before……

PSALM 91: 3  “SURELY HE WILL DELIVER YOU FROM THE SNARE OF THE FOWLER, AND FROM THE DEADLY PLAGUE.”

Two words struck my heart: deliver you. YES, HE will deliver us from all that is around us.  It’s interesting how the WORD can take that fear and turn it into a steadfast and immovable faith.

PSALM 112:7  “HIS HEART IS STEADFAST, TRUSTING IN THE LORD.”

We can be a people who are steadfast in work, steadfast in family, steadfast in exercise, but how steadfast are we in our faith?

Our LORD Jesus showed us what it means to be steadfast and immovable.  HE didn’t waver going to the Cross and HE trusted HIS FATHER to see HIM through.  What an example HE is to us!

JESUS whom we trust remains steadfast for us and to us……to be steadfast, is to be resolute, firm and unwavering.  Oh how we should pray for this type of faith!

I don’t know about you, but I have a deep desire to remain steadfast for the LORD and HIS word all my days.

To be immovable in your faith takes maturity, trust and a continued searching and digging into all of GOD’S word and what it says there.  To know there is mystery and awe in HIS living word, is to know and learn of GOD’S heart for us.  And HE has been faithful, steadfast and immovable when it comes to HIS children!

PSALM 108:4  “FOR YOUR STEADFAST LOVE IS GREAT ABOVE THE HEAVENS, YOUR FAITHFULNESS REACHES TO THE CLOUDS.”

LORD, please help us to learn to be steadfast and immovable in our faith and to remain strong and unyielding to someone’s argument or pressure against us!  Let us learn to love as JESUS loved, but to keep the FATHER and the GOSPEL as our priority and to be…….

STEADFAST AND IMMOVABLE.

Investment in HIS word is so important these days……let it pour into you what the world takes out of you.  Let HIS confidence in all things be yours to grasp onto…….become immovable.  Be steadfast.  We may fail daily, but that is why we have JESUS!  HE never fails, HE never turns away.  HE remains faithful, abounding in love for us. Hold onto HIM my friends, with all you have!

1 CORINTHIANS 15: 58  “THEREFORE, MY BELOVED BROTHERS, BE STEADFAST, IMMOVABLE, ALWAYS ABOUNDING IN THE WORK OF THE LORD, KNOWING THAT IN THE LORD YOUR LABOR IS NOT IN VAIN.”

  1. Yes! God is my rock, my shelter; immoveable and steadfast. He draws my heart to Him; may I be steadfast in my devotion and obedience to Him always!
Thanks for the impetus for praise and steadfastness. 😊

  2. What a powerful Word! May we all be unshakable and standing firm in the Lord’s promises! He will keep us in all things. That fear tried its best to get a grip on all our hearts at the beginning. Not knowing the outcome and seeing things that we had only seen in movies is a scary thing to behold. But greater has He been in us! 🙌🏼

  3. Amen. This year has tried our faith in every way. But the trying of our faith will build our patience and with patience we will become steadfast and immovable. God bless you my dear for this powerful word.
