JOINED AND HELD TOGETHER

As the Body of Christ, we are joined and held together by all the gifts and riches we have in CHRIST.  We are held together by the CROSS.

ALL OF US, WHEREVER WE ARE AROUND THE GLOBE, MAKE UP HIS CHURCH.

The LORD continues to gather together HIS Church from all walks of life and weaves us into a beautiful tapestry of HIS elect.

WE ARE ALL JOINED AND HELD TOGETHER IN CHRIST!

We are: one body, one Spirit, one hope, one LORD, one faith and one Baptism because of ONE GOD!!

ONE GOD, THE FATHER OF US ALL.

Knowing we are one in CHRIST, is a comfort to me.  It means that my brothers and sisters in CHRIST are loved and valued just as I am………by the ONE TRUE GOD.

Just like all the working parts of the body, we work together, side by side, as one complete body.  We may be quite different from one another, but we all stand together under the CROSS, believing in the same Savior.  We are of one faith.

HIS people are joined together each week to worship and encourage one another, so that they can go out into the world, in the name of JESUS.  HE is working us into tightly woven knots that won’t be broken by satan’s lies.

So my point here is this:  we cannot walk out our faiths……..alone.  If we try to, we will come to the end of ourselves.   At one time in my life I wasn’t attending Church.  I found every excuse in the book; work, too tired, too busy and needed Sunday for chores and my list went on.  As the excuses continued, so did I, on my own path.  I believed, but was not convicted and I was not being challenged to go deeper in my faith.  I was not being filled with the Spirit.  It was an easy way and definitely not the narrow way…….unfortunately it was my own way.

MATTHEW 7: 13-14  “ENTER BY THE NARROW GATE.  FOR THE GATE IS WIDE AND THE WAY IS EASY THAT LEADS TO DESTRUCTION, AND THOSE WHO ENTER BY IT ARE MANY.  FOR THE GATE IS NARROW AND THE WAY IS HARD THAT LEADS TO LIFE, AND THOSE WHO FIND IT ARE FEW.

And the enemy wants us to think we can go it alone…….he wants us to isolate ourselves.  He wants to make sure we don’t reach out to one another, or make connections, or make new friends or find a Church of believers.

The Body of Christ is made up of all kinds and all walks of life with CHRIST at the core.  But how will we ever experience the riches of the Body unless we are physically there?  If we are not weekly joining with other believers, how do we ever get filled with the Spirit, or get convicted, or get help for our souls when it is sorely needed?

I think people get this idea of what can the Church do for me, when we should be asking:  what can I do for the Church? And if the Body is functioning well, then all the parts contribute in their own way, with every spiritual gift to keep meeting with one another in reverent worship and love for one another.

1 PETER 2: 5 “…….YOU YOURSELVES LIKE LIVING STONES ARE BEING BUILT UP AS A SPIRITUAL HOUSE, TO BE A HOLY PRIESTHOOD, TO OFFER SPIRITUAL SACRIFICES, ACCEPTABLE TO GOD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.”

What a lovely thought, that we are being built up into HIS spiritual house!  GOD continues to build HIS CHURCH!

1 PETER 4: 10 “AS EACH HAS RECEIVED A GIFT, USE IT TO SERVE ONE ANOTHER, AS GOOD STEWARDS OF GOD’S VARIED GRACE.”

How can we know just what our gifts are if we never use them?  GOD has lavished HIS graces upon us……..let’s use them for HIS glory!

Let’s be comforted in that GOD joins and holds us together in HIS love and grace.  Let’s remember this encouragement by Charles Stanley…….

“People with a responsive, tender heart, tend to stay connected to the Body of Christ and seek to build up and encourage others.”

Are you one of those people?  Reach out and get connected with your fellow believers.  Don’t go it alone……..CHRIST is counting on you!  HE gathers us, then scatters us, to spread the GOSPEL throughout the world.  Until HE comes for us, let’s be joined and held tightly together!

As the Body, we submit under one authority, the authority of JESUS!  HE loves HIS Church……let’s love it today too and every week to come.  HE will return for HIS Church one day.  Are you ready?

1 CORINTHIANS 12: 27  “NOW YOU ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST AND INDIVIDUALLY MEMBERS OF IT.”

  1. What an encouraging message! I love how God calls us His own, and we are to follow Him to/through the narrow gate. Thank you for your posts dear friend!

  2. Oh, so many verses spring to mind:

Eph 2.20, 21 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

Eph 4.16 (even Christ:) 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

You said, “If we are not weekly joining with other believers, how do we ever get filled with the Spirit, or get convicted, or get help for our souls when it is sorely needed?” I was thinking, ‘We don’t always agree with others at church, and that’s where much division and contention originate. But God addresses that, too: Pr 27.17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

We are to associate with other believers to sharpen (even in arguments), edify, and encourage, as well as teach and correct. Great post!

  3. Thanks Kathy…….and we have to learn to “let those things go, those disagreements”. It is the only way the Body can remain together! Thanks for all the scripture references you mentioned…….I love it! Let us continue to sharpen one another with HIS word! Blessings dear one.
