COME……..ADORE……..BEHOLD.

 

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

And so here we are………it’s CHRISTMAS and have you adored HIM yet?  Have you sat quietly maybe near the tree, by the light and the candles and just given HIM praise?

LUKE 1:35 “……..THEREFORE THE CHILD TO BE BORN WILL BE CALLED HOLY – THE SON OF GOD.”

HE is holy and HE is worthy…….worthy of all our praise this season.  Let the busyness go, stop trying to make Christmas perfect.  Because JESUS is the only perfect ONE!

After dark I usually take my pup Molly on a walk and I get to view all the Christmas decorations in our neighborhood.  I have been intentionally looking for mangers…….there is one down the street and only 2 others near.  Why aren’t there more?

I love one in particular…….it is very detailed and the way it is set up, it makes me want to kneel there too, along with the wise men.  Because wise men still seek HIM and adore HIM and behold HIM!

Our culture glorifies the meaningless and the one true ONE, the HOLY lamb of GOD, who takes away the sins of our world, seems to be forgotten and so……..let us…….

COME AND BEHOLD HIM TODAY.

JESUS is the only reason for the season……..let’s remember and behold HIM first.  Let’s let the parties, the gifts and the eggnog fall into second place when it comes to our sweet JESUS.

Because GOD sent HIM to rescue us from ourselves……..

REVELATION 21: 3 “BEHOLD, THE DWELLING PLACE OF GOD IS WITH MAN.  HE WILL DWELL WITH THEM, AND THEY WILL BE HIS PEOPLE, AND GOD HIMSELF WILL BE WITH THEM AS THEIR GOD.”

Yes, we are HIS………HIS people……..HIS remnant.  Don’t let the world around you define your Christmas.  Keep it simple and special and HOLY.  Light a candle only in HIS honor…….read the CHRISTMAS story out loud.  Read HIS words to you, over and over.  Let HIS peace sink into your soul.  Return your focus back to the manger……..

Isn’t it funny how the word adore appears no where in the Bible?  Yet, it’s meaning tells us much about how we should worship our Savior……

To adore: to worship with profound reverence; to pay divine honors to; to honor as deity or as divine.  To love in the highest degree; to regard with the utmost esteem and affection.

Because our GOD is an extraordinary GOD, HE touches the ordinary with HIS hand.  HE sent HIS son, on an ordinary night, in an ordinary stable to Joseph and Mary.  This fact alone should make us fall to our knees and adore HIM, behold HIM, just as those wise men did long ago.

This is us, our culture, spending time on our knees wrapping and wrapping presents…….how about we get on our knees in submission to the Savior who hung on a Cross for us, for our sins?  Let your focus and your eyes go to the Manger and the Babe there……..because HE is Holy and HE was born for you, yes you dear one!

LET THAT SILENT NIGHT OF LONG AGO, COME ALIVE FOR YOU THIS CHRISTMAS.  TAKE TIME AND HONOR AND GLORIFY HIM, THE WONDERFUL SAVIOR WHO CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN BECAUSE HE LOVES US!
