WHAT SHALL WE DO?

I think at some point we are all faced with a nagging question as we sit and listen and ponder the message given to us at Church.  We all come to that point in our walks, the Spirit compels us to face it square on……..so now that we believe and confess with our mouths that JESUS is the LORD of our lives.  What shall we do about it?

Because saying we believe is one thing.  Saying the words are meaningless unless our daily actions speak otherwise.  Saying we believe and then selfishly keeping our belief to ourselves is just being……..well……..selfish!

It’s a pride thing, a worried about what others think kind of thing.  We should never deny HIM or think that we can stay quiet about JESUS.  It is an honorable thing, and a passionate thing, and a step out in faith thing……..to share JESUS.

Abiding with HIM and spending quiet time with JESUS is one thing……..but sharing what we know with others and our testimony, the mission, the mission for JESUS takes intentional daily commitment and a well thought out plan.

If we look at the examples given in the Gospels, JESUS more than once after HE healed someone, told them to go, but to not tell anyone!  Why?  Here are the examples…….

MARK 1: 42-44 “AND IMMEDIATELY THE LEPROSY LEFT HIM, AND HE WAS MADE CLEAN.  AND JESUS STERNLY CHARGED HIM AND SENT HIM AWAY AT ONCE, AND HE SAID TO HIM, “SEE THAT YOU SAY NOTHING TO ANYONE, BUT GO……..”

JESUS also said this after HE healed a blind and deaf man……..

MARK 7: 35-36 “AND HIS EARS WERE OPENED, HIS TONGUE WAS RELEASED, AND HE SPOKE PLAINLY.  AND JESUS CHARGED THEM TO TELL NO ONE.  BUT THE MORE HE CHARGED THEM, THE MORE ZEALOUSLY THEY PROCLAIMED IT.”

JESUS knows our nature so well!  HE knows that we are just the type that when you tell us not to do something or go and tell no one, that we will anyway! 

So what shall we do?  What shall we do with this faith we have?  Do we go and tell everyone the treasure we have found or do we keep this spiritual treasure a secret all for ourselves?  Do we hear HIS word preached each Sunday, then leave and never give it another thought? 

If we just internalize the message, how are we even living on mission?  What shall we do with this KING OF KINGS we have come to know and love?

JESUS invited everyone to HIS table, JEWS and GENTILES alike…….are we doing the same in our circle of influence?  Who have you invited this week to sit across from you and share what you know?  Who?  Neighbor?  Co-worker?  Past acquaintance?  Stranger?  Family member that needs to hear the Good News?

Because HE loved us first……..what shall we do? Our faith walk is being an ambassador for CHRIST!  We are HIS hands and feet here and now.  We are building HIS Kingdom in the here and now.  We are born for such a time as this.

So, what shall we do?  Let us do what is in front of us…….opportunities are all around us everyday.  We just need to open our eyes and realize we have the greatest gift to share!

So, what shall we do?  GO!!!!!

LUKE 13: 29 “THEY WILL COME FROM EAST AND WEST FROM NORTH AND SOUTH TO SHARE THE BANQUET IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD.”
