DON’T HIDE YOUR HEART

We hear much these days about heart health.  But if we really observe our world and the hearts of people and their true heartbeat for whatever they believe in, our overall spiritual heart health is quite toxic.  Oh how the LORD desires our hearts to fully embrace HIM!

So let’s examine the condition of our own hearts and see what scripture tells us:

1 CHRONICLES 28: 9 “……..KNOW THE GOD OF YOUR FATHER AND SERVE HIM WITH A WHOLE HEART AND WITH A WILLING MIND, FOR THE LORD SEARCHES ALL HEARTS AND UNDERSTANDS EVERY PLAN AND THOUGHT.  IF YOU SEEK HIM, HE WILL BE FOUND BY YOU, BUT IF YOU FORSAKE HIM, HE WILL CAST YOU OFF FOREVER.”

ROMANS 2: 15 “THEY SHOW THAT THE WORK OF THE LAW IS WRITTEN ON THEIR HEARTS, WHILE THEIR CONSCIENCE ALSO BEARS WITNESS, AND THEIR CONFLICTING THOUGHTS ACCUSE OR EVEN EXCUSE THEM ON THAT DAY WHEN, ACCORDING TO MY GOSPEL, GOD JUDGES THE SECRETS OF MEN BY CHRIST JESUS.”

EPHESIANS 3: 17 “…….SO THAT CHRIST MAY DWELL IN YOUR HEARTS THROUGH FAITH.”

DEUTERONOMY 30: 6 “AND THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL CIRCUMCISE YOUR HEART AND THE HEART OF YOUR OFFSPRING SO THAT YOU WILL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND ALL YOUR SOUL, THAT YOU MAY LIVE.”

Our heart condition is very important to GOD!

HOW IMPORTANT IS YOUR HEART HEALTH TO YOU?

How guarded are you?  Do you allow people to see into your heart?  Because being authentic with others is how we truly connect with one another. It’s how we love one another.  In all of our social media connections isn’t it interesting that we have more broken hearts than ever!

TRUE HEART KINDNESS IS GOD’S WILL FOR US.

Being kind and compassionate with one another, vulnerable with one another, is sharing your true heart.  Sharing tears with one another and sharing those things that we are even ashamed of, those bad things we have either done or thought of, that is true connection of hearts.

SO DON’T HIDE YOUR HEART!

Let’s commit here and now to trusting HIM to guard our hearts in all things……..knowing that GOD has our hearts in HIS capable HANDS today and for all eternity.

BUT MOST OF ALL, MAY WE NEVER HIDE OUR HEARTS FROM GOD!

PSALM 66:18 “IF I HAD NOT CONFESSED THE SIN IN MY HEART, THE LORD WOULD NOT HAVE LISTENED.”

Letting our hearts be healed by the LORD allows us to share those very hearts with others.  Sharing love and your personal heartbeat with others gives them hope and makes them feel loved by you.  We do this because we can, through CHRIST who is our strength……..

ROMANS 5: 5 “AND HOPE DOES NOT PUT US TO SHAME, BECAUSE GOD’S LOVE HAS BEEN POURED INTO OUR HEARTS THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO HAS BEEN GIVEN TO US.”

Pouring our hearts out to GOD and then pouring our hearts into others is a good thing, a right thing, a vulnerable thing, a healing thing, an amazing thing.  Our hearts should magnify the LORD!  HE is the treasure of our hearts and we are HIS!  Draw near to one another with a true heart, love one another with whole heart and soul.  This is not to be taken lightly, but with serious consideration and always done in love so………don’t……… hide……. your heart.

BECAUSE YOU MAY JUST SAVE SOMEONE’S LIFE!

HEBREWS 10: 22 “…….LET US DRAW NEAR WITH A TRUE HEART IN FULL ASSURANCE OF FAITH, WITH OUR HEARTS SPRINKLED CLEAN FROM AN EVIL CONSCIENCE AND OUR BODIES WASHED WITH PURE WATER.”

  1. I was thinking earlier about high school. About the popular kids. I wasn’t one of them, too introverted and selfish. But the popular ones were the ones who were more open; who were more comfortable with who they were, and could confess when something was awry; who was vulnerable enough to depend on others for help and support, and who offered that support.
In high school it was so important and scary, wondering what everyone else thought about you, wild guessing that everyone hated you. It would have been so much easier to have concentrated on others, on listening, and helping.

    1. Yes, and so it goes with the high school experience. We can look back and see where we could have been more helpful, encouraging others, but loving them. But all of this we can do now……..for the LORD!! May we walk alongside the LORD all of our days Kathy! Bless your heart!
