PUT PRIORITIES ON ALL THINGS UNSEEN

My son and I have been talking much about priorities…….the world has them all messed up and upside down right now.

So how in the world did we get here?  You have to wonder……..is the darkness winning?

When your priority is the light, darkness will never win……..

ISAIAH 42:6 “AND YOU WILL BE A LIGHT TO GUIDE THE NATIONS.”

Light always outshines the darkness……..we tend to be drawn to the light.  Why is that?

JOHN 3: 21 “BUT THOSE WHO DO RIGHT COME TO THE LIGHT SO OTHERS CAN SEE THAT THEY ARE DOING WHAT GOD WANTS.”

It takes courage and perseverance to be the light, to do what is right when the rest of the world thinks you are wrong.  As Christians, our light needs to shine for the rest of the world and we are able to do that by showing our love for one another…….you know the kind, a true, authentic love.  Love that does not judge, or belittle or gossip about.  Love that takes care and serves and blesses and gives as much grace to another human being as JESUS gives to us.

2 CORINTHIANS 6: 14 “HOW CAN LIGHT LIVE WITH DARKNESS?”

I recently commented to someone on the Nextdoor App when they were complaining about an angry driver.  It was obvious that this person saw themselves in the right and I happened to comment that you never know what type of day the other person behind the wheel had.  Just giving that person the benefit of the doubt and a little grace is a good thing, and even the right thing to do. The comment back to me was not quite kind and that is ok.  She was just living the example of exactly what she was complaining about with the angry driver and I chose to give her the grace that she wasn’t showing me.  If we can be the light on social media we should as much as we possibly can.

All of our everyday experiences and interactions allows us the opportunity to show GOD’S light.  Since our priority is on all things unseen, shouldn’t what we see be our priority to shed the light we so understand?

If we feed our faith every day, make it our true priority, then our light shines the brightest.  It is bright because the ONE who loves us, shines upon us too, as bright as the sun.

JOHN 12: 46 “I HAVE COME AS A LIGHT TO SHINE IN THIS DARK WORLD, SO THAT ALL WHO PUT THEIR TRUST IN ME WILL NO LONGER REMAIN IN THE DARK.”

Did you catch that?  We, as Christ followers no longer remain in the dark!  We are the light!

Being the light and how much or how little will depend upon where you are in your faith walk……..your light will shine upon those no matter how small.  Your light will reflect on those around you because it is the way GOD made you………to shine for HIM!  And oh how wonderful it is, when that light shines back upon you from another!  It is a joy and an encouragement!

Our priority will and always should be our LORD JESUS CHRIST and HIS glory and all that this world does not see.  Our true faith let’s us trust all things unseen.  Because JESUS is the light, our light and our trust, then the darkness cannot compete or ever extinguish HIS amazing, brilliant, eternal light.

JOHN 1:5 “THE LIGHT SHINES IN THE DARKNESS, AND THE DARKNESS CAN NEVER EXTINGUISH IT.”
