If you are like me, there are times where doubt creeps into your life. We as humans tend to be doubters. We doubt that our money will not go far enough, that a needed check will never arrive on time and that a deadline will not be met. We doubt and yes, we worry. How often do we doubt GOD too?
We read HIS words and we sing HIS praises, but still we doubt. We doubt HE will answer in spite of all HIS promises given to us in the bible. We doubt ourselves, we doubt others and we doubt the ONE who promised HE would never leave us.
DEUTERONOMY 31: 6 “……..FOR IT IS THE LORD YOUR GOD WHO GOES WITH YOU, HE WILL NOT LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU.”
PSALM 94: 14 ” FOR THE LORD WILL NOT FORSAKE HIS PEOPLE; HE WILL NOT ABANDON HIS HERITAGE.”
We should not doubt that the LORD is there for us, because of HIS promises!
The LORD loves us so much that HE sent HIS only SON to live among us as an example of HIS heart and HIS compassion that HE has for saving us, the sinners that we are!
So why do we doubt HIM? Is it because we cannot see the future? Looking forward none of us know what is coming the next day or month or year. There are all sorts of issues that can make the creep of doubt run deep.
So how can we put our doubt aside? First of all, let’s remember all the times that GOD was faithful to us, especially in those hard times. HE answered in a way that was perfect just for us and no one else. When I look back on those valleys, I can see how HE walked alongside me and guided my steps. Often HIS answers to my prayers were beyond anything I asked for. I trusted HIM in the waiting………knowing that HE answers, HE provides, and HE loves. And second…….
Let us remain faithful in the waiting………HE will answer!
Doubt will melt away when we meditate on the scriptures that the Spirit guides us to, giving us the assurance we need in our circumstances. The word of GOD does that! If we take our focus off our problem and place it on the ONE who is much bigger than all our problems, we can be assured and comforted.
Let us be confident……..let us put our trust on HIM. And let us take care to have love and compassion on those around us who doubt!
JUDE 22 “AND HAVE MERCY ON THOSE WHO DOUBT.”
Those around us may doubt, but our continued trust in the LORD will shine like a beacon for those who need to be encouraged. Your strong unwavering faith during difficult times will and can be a lifeline for someone else. You can be the one who says: “yes I have been through that and let me tell you how GOD helped me through.” You see, we all go through the stuff of our lives so that we can help along someone behind us.
Share your testimony with someone who doubts in the LORD. Show them HIS hands on your life and tell it in an authentic way, because our testimonies are our biggest examples of the TRUTH.
We all doubt (there is that word!) when we do share, that we will not be accepted or loved or judged. I have found that always GOD takes care of that and HE will guide you and give you just the right words at the right time.
So, let us cast aside our doubts! Let us put our total trust in the LORD……let us live on HIS promises for us, and let’s remember to have mercy on those around us who doubt and are broken because of it. Don’t doubt today my friends…….HIS promises are truth!
MARK 11: 23 “TRULY, I SAY TO YOU, WHOEVER SAYS TO THIS MOUNTAIN, ‘BE TAKEN UP AND THROWN INTO THE SEA,’ AND DOES NOT DOUBT IN HIS HEART, BUT BELIEVES THAT WHAT HE SAYS WILL COME TO PASS, IT WILL BE DONE FOR HIM.”
Good post, Maxine. I think so long as we remain trapped in the flesh we will always do the things the Bible tells us not to do: doubt, fear, worry … However, maturity in the Lord should help reduce the instances of these natural human behaviors as the Lord continually molds us into His image.
