BEHOLD

Isn’t it just like our GOD to give us something to…….behold.  HE sends us sunrises and sunsets every day.  How often we take them for granted!

But truly there is only ONE to whom we should behold and that is our JESUS, our GOD, our protector and our redeemer.

WHAT YOU BEHOLD IS WHAT YOU BECOME.

Behold means to: see or observe (a thing or person, especially a remarkable or impressive one).  To contemplate, to inspect, to regard and to follow means to behold.

When we behold something, we give it a place of priority and importance…….it shines above all else in our eyes.  Nothing takes the place of it’s importance to us so I am going to ask you this:   do you behold your GOD?  Do you revere HIM and realize how truly HOLY HE is?

Our GOD is Sovereign over all the universe, yet kind and gentle enough to care about the smallest details in our lives.  Nothing escapes HIM…….we can’t hide from him, although we try, but HE sees it all and for that alone, we should behold!

Think on this: who are we, that the GOD of all the earth would care to know our ways?  Who is our amazing GOD?

There is nothing now or ever that we can do to clean up our acts…….only JESUS who died for all our sins, past, present and future can do that for us.  HE alone was the perfect atoning sacrifice for our sins so that we could be made right with GOD.

WHAT WE BEHOLD, IS WHAT WE BECOME!

Aren’t our Christian walks all about our transformation into hearts and minds that are “just like JESUS”?

Behold HIS sacrifice for us………behold the Cross…….BEHOLD HIS gift of grace and mercy for us!  BEHOLD HIS forgiveness for our sins!  BEHOLD HIS hand on you to grow you and teach you in a way that pleases HIM!

PSALM 25:14 “THE FRIENDSHIP OF THE LORD IS FOR THOSE WHO FEAR HIM, AND HE MAKES KNOWN TO THEM HIS COVENANT.”

Don’t ever think that GOD looks away from your life!  No we, we are the ones, we are the ones who take our gaze off of HIM.  We are the ones who get too busy……too busy to behold HIM.

If you say you are a Christian, do you behold HIS WORD?  How many Christians do you know that never open their Bible?  You see, when you behold GOD, you behold HIS WORD.  It is life and breath to you, your daily nourishment for your soul.  It is the only answer to life’s questions.  You seek to understand it, no matter how difficult and you study and memorize it over and over.  And because HE is watching, because HE knows, over time the scriptures are slowly revealed to us about our GOD.  To read scripture is to know GOD’S heart and to understand HIS character.  It is HIS love letter to us and to behold HIS word, is to behold HIM!  Yes, behold your GOD today.

EPHESIANS 1: 18-19 “………HAVING THE EYES OF YOUR HEARTS ENLIGHTENED, THAT YOU MAY KNOW WHAT IS THE HOPE TO WHICH HE HAS CALLED YOU, WHAT ARE THE RICHES OF HIS GLORIOUS INHERITANCE IN THE SAINTS, AND WHAT IS THE IMMEASURABLE GREATNESS OF HIS POWER TOWARD US WHO BELIEVE.”

To behold is to grasp with our minds the greatness and the hope and the inheritance of our mighty GOD who saves us!  HE is righteous and omnipresent and HE is the treasure of all Christianity.

In this new year, let us refocus our attentions, let us be aware of GOD all around us, look and see our holy GOD in the great and small, make sure you are daily in HIS WORD, but make sure when you see, when you study, when you pray and when you seek, that you seek with all your heart to……… BEHOLD HIM for who HE is………GOD!

PSALM 46:10 “BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD.”

    1. Yes, my goal this year is to be more still, to BEHOLD HIM more. Oh how the busyness of this world takes us away from HIM, and unfortunately it seems that satan is winning at it. But we can BEHOLD more than we need to be busy! Let us be intentional……thanks for stopping by David.
