ONLY GOD SEES US IN OUR HIDDEN PLACES……..
Sometimes I wonder if what I do when no one else sees really matters? What about when I sit and do nothing? It is those everyday things like folding laundry, dog walking, cleaning up the kitchen after dinner and buying groceries…….does that time matter too? There are those chores we do mindlessly that makes me think I could be doing something more productive and important.
PSALM 139: “EVEN THERE YOUR HAND SHALL LEAD ME, AND YOUR RIGHT HAND SHALL HOLD ME.”
But when we are alone, GOD sees those moments and those quiet times……..those moments when no picture is put up on Facebook or Instagram to show what we are doing. And in that hidden time…….HE holds us and comes close.
I do search for GOD in my unproductive moments………I am learning it is ok to just sit and “be still”. It is a good thing to think about HIM in the middle of folding laundry! Are you searching GOD out in all of the things you do?
Give HIM today your all and all……
What I mean by that is to give GOD access to the parts of you that you don’t even like……yes, all those pieces and parts that you know so well, and HE does too. We need to give HIM those places that we don’t acknowledge in ourselves because we don’t want them to be seen by anyone……..but GOD sees those hidden things that weigh heavily upon our hearts and minds……..hidden thoughts, guilt and sin.
You have to ask yourself, how does GOD see me? If you are HIS child, and HE is your ONE and ONLY, then HIS view of you is that you are HIS beloved child. And HE is never more satisfied with us, as when we are sitting and taking delight in HIM. When we glorify, delight and wonder about all that HE is, and a continued dialogue occurs between us and HIM, then we are keeping our gaze and focus upon HIM and we are slowly transformed!
Lately, I keep getting the message to tear up the “list”…….that my journey isn’t about doing, but about being open and authentic with HIM. Confessing all my sins, great and small and seeing that I need JESUS, my Savior who is that perfect ONE. Having no list, frees me and I can take the time to just be……..isn’t that also when we hear HIM best?
Let your quiet stillness tell you some things…….things about GOD and things about yourself. It’s ok, look at those hard places cause GOD is looking there too! Let’s quit trying to live up to someone’s image of ourselves and accept that we are made in HIS image. Ponder. Ponder……..just JESUS. Let HIM speak to your heart. And listen……..
PSALM 37:3 “DWELL IN THE LAND, AND FEED ON HIS FAITHFULNESS.”
COULD IT BE, THE REAL YOU WHEN YOU SIT STILL IS MORE IMPORTANT TO JESUS, THAN ANYTHING YOU COULD EVER……. DO?
Maybe our true delight in the LORD is when HE sees all of us, as we are, as we are becoming…….and in that private place, we never need to hide. HE sees all our hidden messes, even all the bad stuff and HE knows our story and HE knows the finished product…….and HE knows who we truly are and……..HE……..smiles.
HE smiles because HE knew us before we were born…….
PSALM 139: 13 “FOR YOU FORMED MY INWARD PARTS; YOU COVERED ME IN MY MOTHER’S WOMB.”
Our true delight can be in the LORD who sees all of us and the delight is the fact that we don’t need to hide. Stop hiding from GOD!
If I let the LORD see all of me and I realize that I am forgiven, then I am truly free…….free from guilt and pain. In that private time with HIM, I tend to know a gentle grace from my JESUS and my response back is a special reverential awe and wonder of HIM, that only spending time with HIM will do. And when I sit in that wonder……..I see JESUS and HE sees me wanting and needing no one else! Being loved in those hidden times and places are all worth it…….worth it because HE is sufficient in a way no one else is in this life.
Take time friends……..focus, search and ponder GOD because when you do, your hidden moments will become those special memorable times that will stick with you, strengthen you, deliver you, and guide you. Don’t hide, learn to abide!
PSALM 32:7 “YOU ARE MY HIDING PLACE; YOU SHALL PRESERVE ME FROM TROUBLE; YOU SHALL SURROUND ME WITH SONGS OF DELIVERANCE.”
