FERTILE GROUND

If you think about it, we all are planting seeds of goodness or seeds of negativity along the way.  I have learned that the good seeds of GOD can and will be watered either by us or someone else.  But planting only good seeds should be our goal each day.

The seeds we plant in order to grow must be left on fertile ground.

What I mean by that is a person’s heart needs to be receptive to those seeds of wisdom, guidance and love.

GOD has planted in the grounds of our hearts HIS word……and in our own unique way we can plant along the way the seeds of that word.

Seeds and soil are an easy thing to understand and in JESUS’ parable of the sower, JESUS explains the difference between seeds sown on good soil verses rocky ground.  We don’t know as we lay those seeds what type of ground they are planted in, but we still need to lay them regardless!

Abiding closely with the LORD will allow the HOLY SPIRIT to guide you in your planting of those seeds.  When our time each day is spent in the WORD of GOD, our soul starts to take root in all that GODLY wisdom that only the Bible can give.

WE ARE ABLE TO PLANT THOSE SEED-WORDS BECAUSE THE WORD PLANTS ITSELF IN US!

Our words matter……..I believe in this because I have had former skating students tell me they remembered something I said to them when they were young and have carried that word or phrase with them as they got older.

Your seed-words matter……..have you planted any today?

Doesn’t matter where you are or whom you are with……..you can plant.  Planting is a good thing…….

PSALM 107: 37 “THEY PLANTED SEEDS IN THE FIELDS AND VINEYARDS, AND THEY HAD A GOOD HARVEST.”

So, I am going to give you a challenge friend…….see if you can go one day, one 24 hours without complaining and only using words that uplift others and even yourself!  You will find it is very hard to do.  Pay attention to the words you say to see if they are GODLY wisdom that could grow into something more or are your words negative in some way?

SEED-WORDS…….THOSE LEFT ON FERTILE GROUND OF THE HEART OF THE HEARER, HAVE THE ABILITY OF GROWING BEYOND ANYTHING WE CAN IMAGINE!

1 CORINTHIANS 3: 8 “HE WHO PLANTS AND HE WHO WATERS ARE ONE AND EACH WILL RECEIVE HIS WAGES ACCORDING TO HIS LABORS.  FOR WE ARE GOD’S FELLOW WORKERS. YOU ARE GOD’S FIELD.”

Did you see that? We are GOD’S field and we have the GOD-given ability to lay seed-words in the fields around us.  We are HIS planters because HIS love is planted in us.  And we can help with GOD’S harvest of souls for HIS kingdom!

1 PETER 1:23 “……..SINCE YOU HAVE BEEN BORN AGAIN, NOT OF PERISHABLE SEED, BUT OF IMPERISHABLE, THROUGH THE LIVING AND ABIDING WORD OF GOD.”

So take the challenge……..one day of not complaining, only use your words to build others up and encourage those around you.  Take note of what you say and see if you are truly rooted in the WORD OF GOD, or something else.

Your words do matter, bless someone today…….they might need to hear those words more than you will ever know.  Lay those seeds, either with your children, your family or your friends.  Remember anyone who crosses your path.  It’s ok if you don’t see the result and growth of those seed-words, just lay them.

Plant, plant, plant.  Love, love, love.  Hope, hope, and hope more……..hope that GOD’S field will grow.

ISAIAH 53:10 “HE SHALL SEE HIS SEED.”
