HAVING ENOUGH TIME TO LIVE WELL

LORD I JUST WANT TO HAVE ENOUGH TIME…….

Recently my two closest girlfriends in the world and I were talking about planning a trip to the beach together.  We don’t care what beach, just a beach where we can sit and watch the world go by all day.

Between each of us we share aches and pains, heartaches and even cancer.  But we all are still standing tall in spite of what life has thrown us and for now that is a blessing.

My friend said to me: “we need to see each other and do this trip while we still can.” And my reaction was one of wonder: how did we all get here?  With all the hurry and busyness in our lives, the clock has continued to move forward.  Do you hear it? Tick, tick, tick.

LORD I JUST WANT TO HAVE ENOUGH TIME…….

You see, I just want enough time to live my life well……to live my life long enough to love well and to cherish those relationships GOD has entrusted to me.  I want my family and friends and even new or old relationships to know they are cherished, that they are counted by me as a sincere blessing that without GOD I wouldn’t have.

In all our rushing and acquiring the world plays a cruel joke on us.  Because it all is just stuff. And stuff tarnishes and rusts, but those authentic relationships stand true.  Yes, those people and family matter more than we realize.  Have you told someone recently how much they truly mean to you?  Or are you taking time for granted?

LORD HELP ME TO LOVE WELL.

Telling those you love, can easily be pushed aside by doing, rather than saying and words mean something. Because words matter, I have to choose to say those lovely words, rather than criticize.  

LORD GIVE ME ENOUGH TIME TO LIVE COURAGEOUSLY. 

Living my life well takes courage and strength that only GOD can give, to press on forward in spite of obstacles and difficulties.  The GOD of the universe gives us the courage and knowledge that HE is our true success because we have an unshakable, compassionate GOD who calls us beloved.

LORD HELP ME REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE THERE FOR ME.

Because I know I am HIS beloved, having enough time allows me to look back on my life to see HIS hand in it all and to recall all those times when GOD guided me through difficulties only to come out of them stronger, less fearful, more trusting and more loving. Oh, how HE loves us!

DEUTERONOMY 31:6 “BE STRONG AND OF GOOD COURAGE, DO NOT FEAR NOR BE AFRAID OF THEM; FOR THE LORD YOUR GOD, HE IS THE ONE WHO GOES WITH YOU.”

Having enough time allows me to live as a willing servant of GOD who finds pleasure in being HIS hands and feet in the world showing mercy and compassion on anyone who crosses my path.  Living well is delighting to do the LORD’S will because HIS will is my will.

In my living well, I need to be watchful and prayerful……not on some days, but on everyday.  If I want enough time, I need to count every moment I am given as precious time never to be wasted.  And here is my main point, if I want to waste time, let me waste it on the stuff that truly matters and on those things that satisfy my soul.

LET US NEVER WASTE TIME ON THE THINGS WHICH ARE NOT ETERNAL!

Our knowing GOD and entering into a deep relationship with HIM, helps us see through HIS eyes, through HIS lens and therefore we learn that enough time is always spent with HIM, for HIM and through HIM. Our time is precious and it is a gift.

We all are on the clock so to speak…….every one of us is living those minutes in one way or another.  How are you using your time? I pray your time spent is for the LORD!
