WE MIGHT NOT BE HOLY, BUT WE CAN BE HONEST

When you look in the mirror, who do you see?  Do you see an honest person or one who tells those mini lies all day to yourself and those around you?  Who do you see in your reflection?  Have you ever thought about it?

I often wonder when I look in the mirror, if that reflection of myself is who GOD sees.  Does HE see me as I am, faults and all and not very holy, or does HE see me as the final product of who HE wants me to become?

Let’s be honest here, there is a huge dishonest world swirling around us right now and we Christians need to be honest in our faith and honest in our speech.  The enemy seems to be winning this war.  What is wrong is celebrated and what is right is demonized.  It makes me sad that people in general will do anything and say anything just to get their way.

Yes, our world is off the rails in conflict and that makes it even more important that we are honest with ourselves and GOD and others.  We need to be that one who tells the truth when no one else will.  And we need to realize that when we lie we sin before GOD…….

PSALM 51: 4 “AGAINST YOU, YOU ONLY HAVE I SINNED.”

Because our LORD is the GOD of truth…….HE hates lying.  And so when you look in the mirror you have to ask how many lies have I told today?  What about those little white lies?  What about the sin of omission?  The more I read scripture, the more I realize how much the WORD is truth!

Do you take the WORD as the ultimate truth or do you take only part of it to make it fit your lifestyle?  Do you take only some of the scriptures as truth and ignore others?  What about the hard ones?  What about those scriptures that are truly black and white……there is no in-between……..

JOHN 14: 6 “JESUS SAID TO HIM, I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME.”

Notice that scripture says: no one?  No, not one except through JESUS CHRIST.  You see, the WORD is clear here.  There is no gray area.  And how often do we try as humans to make things just that?

We need to be clear in our faith too, especially when we share with others.  In this politically correct world it is hard to do, and I must say, we will be persecuted for it!  But guess what……you are in good company too.  JESUS said we would be chastised for our belief in HIM.  But I would rather have that, then to live without HIM.

I guess what we all need to do is to step out in faith and be that one who speaks up, be the one who tells the truth, be the one who will do the right thing and not go along with the crowd.  It’s hard standing alone, but you aren’t alone with JESUS by your side.

GO ON, WHAT ARE YOU SO WORRIED ABOUT?  THAT PEOPLE WON’T LIKE YOU???

But I’ll bet our GOD will love you for being that TRUTH for HIM.

How can we be lovers of HIS TRUTH and not be willing to get the heck out of the boat??

Let us pledge today to be speakers of the truth, even when it’s hard, even when it’s uncomfortable.  Let our character be a character of truth and honesty.  And then when you look in the mirror, you won’t have to look away in shame.  You can look at who is looking back at you……..a child of GOD whose truth has set them free!

  1. Thanks Tabitha for visiting here…….we all have to realize that all that truly matters, is how our GOD sees us. HE sees our heart when no one else can or when others don’t understand or judge us. I’m so thankful that GOD sees me for who I am and knows I’m not a finished product yet!
