AN ARM FULL OF GRACE

This time of year, I spend much time reading Scripture describing how JESUS came to the world in a manger in Bethlehem.  What a wonder it must have been for Wise men to follow the star in the East to an unknown location where love from Heaven came down to touch the world.

As most mothers and fathers know, it is truly a blessed event the first time you hold your newborn in your arms………your arms are full of grace and love, all wrapped up in a neat little package.  You have to stare in disbelief……..a sweet little one who minutes ago was safely tucked in the womb of it’s mother.

I have to wonder what Mary thought the first time she held pure grace in her arms?  Can you imagine?  Was she wondering what GOD had done?  Was she amazed that she had conceived by the Holy Spirit, the Son of GOD?  What do you say to this newborn……..because HE came from Heaven as a Savior for all mankind and He certainly was HOLY!

I have held my own and other newborns and when you do, you feel the weight in your arms of love, peace, light and hope.  It is a weight that you don’t take lightly.  An armful of heavenly grace makes you stop……..and think……and shed a tear of joy.

I still must wonder: what did Mary think as she looked down into the eyes of pure GRACE? What do you say to a GOD you can hold in your arms?

We should ponder the same thought whether we hold a newborn or hold onto each other!

Wherever you are this Christmas season, you can be an armful of grace for someone else.  Linger a little longer in the HUG you give!  Hugs are healing………reach out and give someone a healing hug…….just because……..just because you believe in that GRACE.  And tell that person you love them.

OUR GOD BLESSED US THIS TIME OF YEAR WITH A BABE FULL OF GRACE AND MERCY TO SAVE MANKIND.  IT TRULY IS A WONDER AND A MIRACLE IN A DARK WORLD.  HIS LIGHT WAS A GUIDE TO ALL WHO CAME TO SEE…….TO SEE THE ONE WHO WAS AND IS THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD.

Let us thank HIM FOR FILLING US IN HIS GRACE……..and in this season of light, let us reach with arms of grace and words of light for one another.

ACTS 20;32 “AND NOW I ENTRUST YOU TO GOD AND THE MESSAGE OF HIS GRACE THAT IS ABLE TO BUILD YOU UP AND GIVE YOU AN INHERITANCE WITH ALL THOSE HE HAS SET APART FOR HIMSELF.”

GRACE MEANS THAT GOD ALREADY LOVES US AS MUCH AS AN INFINITE GOD CAN POSSIBLY LOVE…..  PHILIP YANCEY

HIS eyes see us and they see us through eyes of love and grace and mercy and redemption.  In this special season, let us remember what JESUS did for us and how HE stands in the gap for us, the sinners that we are.   HIS coming in human form was the greatest event ever recorded in history……..an event to never forget, but to honor and glorify each year at Christmas.  Let us remember the glory of the LORD……..that HOLY night…….a DIVINE night……. because of the PRINCE OF PEACE.

LUKE 1: 30 “BUT THE ANGEL SAID TO HER, ‘ DO NOT BE AFRAID, MARY, YOU HAVE FOUND FAVOR WITH GOD. YOU WILL BE WITH CHILD AND GIVE BIRTH TO A SON, AND YOU ARE TO GIVE HIM THE NAME JESUS.”

  1. Thank you for the wonderful devotionals. I often read them and meditate on them but neglect to say thank you for using your talents to glorify our Lord and for helping me to slow down in the midst of a busy life. Blessings and Merry Christmas.

  2. YOU are very welcome……..thank you for spending time here. Many years ago when I decided to write I knew that GOD would bless this sacred space. May it continue to inspire you during this season of light and also in the New Year!
