LINGER A LITTLE LONGER

In the hustle bustle of this season, we often forget to linger a little longer……..

Just this past week my dog sitting business got very busy and I was gone from home for 10 days.  I’m so glad GOD gave me the time before I was booked to prepare for HIS coming.  My tree and all the extra trimmings was put up right after Thanksgiving.  GOD knew I would be busy right now, are you?

I still have a long list of things to do because now I am behind the eight ball……I haven’t even started shopping for my husband yet!  But with my list of the many things I need to do or buy, I also in the midst of it all, need to learn to linger a little longer……..

Let us pause and thank GOD that HE is HOLY…….

Let us stop and consider HIS unconditional LOVE for us…….

Let us view the lights in the darkness and realize how brightly against all else HE SHINES…….

Let us think and ponder the wonder of the Babe in the manger.  It is true wonder that love came down to get us thousands of years ago.  Our world needed GOD’S love long ago and still needs it today.  HIS love touched our world then and is still present today.

Let us continue to read HIS word.  JOHN 14:1 says: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in GOD, believe also in ME.”

Let us rejoice in our LORD.  Luke 2:10-11 says: “…….for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.  For there is born to you this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is CHRIST the LORD.”

Find the time, no………make……..the……..time……. to……. linger……..stop…….. and be still.   Be still and know that HE is WITH us, Emmanuel, GOD, the HOLY ONE.

When we linger…….we take the time to HONOR JESUS.

HE took our sin upon HIMSELF to come for us because HE would rather die than live without us!

So at the end of the day…….LET US LINGER a little longer in front of the tree, or in the WORD, or in front of the warm fire.  Let us consider……..let us welcome JESUS this Christmas with a heart that is open to the gift of HIS love, a love that never ends, a love that is eternal.

LUKE 2: 19 “BUT MARY KEPT ALL THESE THINGS AND PONDERED THEM IN HER HEART.”
